The Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnum Magnetic Engine Oil Heater, part # KH1190 is designed to warm the engine oil in cars, trucks, and farm machinery.
This features a magnetic base that attaches to a metal surface like an oil pan and has heat output between 300 and 400 degrees F. The heating area is approximately 20 square inches.
I am not sure this would be ideal for a generator due to the size of the motor on a generator. Many times a generator will have aluminum oil pans which would mean the magnetic base would be ineffective.
Another alternative you may want to consider is part # KH26150. This is a heater that uses a flexible 4 X 5 inch heating pad that is attached by peeling the adhesive backing and sticking it to the surface you wish to heat. This is a 150 watt heating pad that has a silicone covering that resists oil and acid.
