Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Rhino Rack Tapered Extension for your Rhino Rack Batwing Awning. This is an extra wide tapered extension that's going to easily attach to your Rhino Rack Batwing Awning. There, you can see a picture of it when it's actually set up. So you get a better idea of how it's gonna look for you once you have it installed. This is going to allow you to add a privacy screen, a wind break, a shade panel or you can use the included telescoping poles here to hold up that far end so that you can extend your overhead coverage for your awning.
This is going to work with both your driver's side and your passenger side Batwing Awnings as you can see with those part numbers on the screen there. And this is going to have this zipper that runs all across the top. So it is gonna be very easy to get zipped onto your awning. It's only gonna take a few seconds to get this installed. And then we do have side zippers down here on the side.
So if we wanted to add additional awnings, we can just zip those in place to have a nice, secure connection there. This, if you add four awnings that will allow you to create a full enclosure around your vehicle. There's also a very similar tapered extension that has a door with it. So if you wanted to have easier access if you did have the full setup, fully enclosed around your vehicle, you could add in that door panel there so you could easily get in and out kind of like a tent. Now, one thing I do wanna note is that this newer panel is going to have a different zipper than the older style panel.
So if you do have any of those older panels, the zipper is not going to work to attach this new style to your older style, but they do have these hook and loop tabs here that will allow you to get hooked up. So you still have a connection between the panels. It's just not gonna be as secure as with that zipper there. This is an olive green ripstop polycotton canvas that is going to resist tears and damage from UV, water and mold. It is waterproof.
You can see we've got that backing on there. So it's gonna provide lots of protection if the weather turns unpleasant. And this is going to also have a great fit around your Batwing poles because those poles do kind of stick up at an angle at the corners. And this is going to provide the hook and loop straps to wrap around those so that you're still gonna have that protection. There's not gonna be as big a holes, allowing water to get through there. These are going to do a great job of wrapping around those poles, providing that protection from the elements. It is gonna be very simple to get this installed. They do include your guideline and stakes that will attach right here. So you can have this pulled out, make sure that it's not going to be blowing in on you if you we're in a windy environment. They also include this travel bag here that's going to hold all your poles, stakes, guidelines and the panel itself so that you can keep everything organized and very easily pack up, take off when you're ready to hit the road again. When you have it all packed up, it weighs just under 8 pounds so it's not gonna be too heavy to carry around, take out of your vehicle, get everything set up. So if you are wanting to add a little bit more shade, oh for that evening sun or morning sun, or if you're wanting to have a little bit more privacy or get your whole set up enclosed, this is gonna be a great option for you. That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

I ordered 2 and 1 was destroyed in the mail and was promptly replaced.
Product works fine. Order and delivery was great. However, Rhinorack changed the design. I had one older side panel design I purchased with the awning a few years ago. So, I ended up with one useless side panel and had to order a 4th to complete the enclosure.
Another complaint in the design is the large gap left at the end of the awning back to the truck.
Always great pricing and shipping from etrailer. thanks.
Packaging was weird. Not sure if this happened in transit or actually left the warehouse like this. (See pic) Glad everything was in tact. Decent shipping speed.
Increases usable space when raining or when the sun is too hot
Great product, great price and fast shi pping!
Lost a zipper head just last week. Not sure i would go with the tapered awning again. Mayne more straight wall. Did hold up very well against the hail storm last month
These fit great on my older batwing awning. I will probably snag the door one as well.
