Video Transcript for Checking Out the Front Runner Transit Rooftop Cargo Bag

Hi everyone. I'm Evangeline here at etrailer. Today I'm gonna be reviewing the Front Runner Large Transit Bag. Now, this is gonna be a bag designed by Front Runner usually, or ideally, for the Wolf Pack Pros as a shell so that you can carry those containers up and on top of your roof. But this is also something that's very helpful for other situations. Maybe you need to organize things inside your vehicle.

This is gonna be a good bag to do so, maybe you need to stuff other things that's not Wolf Packs, in here I have a mat, some chairs, some other items. And since I now have this bag, I would then be able to secure this onto my roof as an almost enclosed cargo container. So if those are the situations that you have encountered and you're curious to see how this will work in that, let's take a look at this bag. While Front Runner calls this their large transit bag, I personally would consider this a small, maybe medium-sized roof-mounted bag, but to the Front Runner, what does make this a little different compared to your roof-mounted cargo bags is definitely gonna be the construction and just really the way this is designed as more of a shell. The bottom base is gonna be a PVC base, and I really like Front Runner's construction of all their items.

You have these really good seams, you have this really solid waterproof base, and that material is resistant to punctures or tears. Now, for the top part of the bag, this is gonna be made of a 600 denier material, and that means you have a waterproof, thick material where along the sides you also have this hook and loop strip all throughout. So plenty of space from the zipper to the end of your lip, which means that as long as everything is nice and sealed, it should prevent water from coming up through the lip, through the zipper, making for a more waterproof bag. And something that makes this feel more like a duffle bag than a rooftop bag are definitely these handles. I like the handles, they're really strong, they're sturdy, and they make me feel confident that even though I'm carrying some heavy things inside this bag, the handles are not gonna break any time soon.

But with this and without anything else, this feels more like a glorified duffel bag for your different cargo. What would make this different from a normal duffel bag is when you put this on the roof. And while you can have this on your roof, you are gonna have to pick up some extra parts, specifically some eye bolts as well as some straps. So you can use the standard eye bolt kit, which is what I have, or the premium eye bolt kit, whichever works. Just make sure you tighten them down properly onto your Front Runner rack.

As for these straps, I use Stratchits, but you can also use pretty much any other strap. You're gonna feed that strap through one of the six loops on your bag. Getting that into place. The Stratchit works great because the carabiners fit nicely into the eye bolts and provide a lot of good tension there. But as long as you use at least two straps for your bag, you should be set. So it is a rooftop cargo bag because of the material of the bag, waterproof, able to hold up to the elements, things like that. But I personally think a rooftop cargo bag has the items to store it on the roof included with the bag. So having to get them separately is a little annoying. But fortunately you have the tips and tricks right here, where, again, I recommend getting at least four of those eye bolts, two of those straps, and you can find them right here at etrailer. So final thoughts are that if you are looking for a rooftop cargo bag, there are other options out there that provide more space, have different methods of mounting to your roof, and are really designed as a roof bag. But if you are in the Front Runner ecosystem, you have, like, the Wolf Pack Pro or the Cub Pack, or just their nice organizational boxes, this is something I actually highly recommend getting along with them, because then you can keep all of those packs or boxes together. You have a really good shell for them. You're able to put those boxes onto your roof so that you can free up your storage space inside your vehicle. So it really does depend on what are you using and what are you using this bag for to see if it is the right fit for your adventures. And hopefully this video just helped explain that difference and also just showed how you might use it, especially on your roof. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call or send us a review here at etrailer. Mention me and I'll get back to you.
