Jeff Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Redarc MC4 connector kit for solar panels. Now, these MC4 connectors will let you modify your MC4 cables. This kit will let you extend or shorten your existing cables, and they do give you multiple installation methods. In other words, the metal portions here that will attach to your wire, it can be either crimped to your wire or soldered, whichever way you prefer.
And the kit does include one positive and one negative MC4 connectors. And just to show you what you would do, and again, your connectors are always marked. This one will have a plus for positive. And then this one, if you look, will have a negative, a minus for a negative. And you do wanna make sure you notice that the diameters are different on the wire connectors.
The positive will be a larger diameter, the negative is a smaller diameter. But basically, what you would do to connect it, if you go ahead and unscrew this cap and then connect your wire, either crimp or solder to this metal connector. Slide this over that. And then you just slide your connector in there with the wire, and then just screw this down into place. And it'll hold everything in there, same with that one.
But that should do it for the review on the Redarc MC4 connector kit for solar panels..
Product is fine. Works as intended. Product was shipped disassembled without instructions. It turns out that the two conductors are different sizes. Not knowing this, I crimped the conductors to the wrong wires. Not happy about that.
Worked as expected. Wish I had the proper crimping tool. But I only need to attach one pair
they were the exact replacement parts that I needed
