I brought 2 hinges, 1 one hinge worked fine, the other one did not want to swivel, had to put penetrating oil on it. Then put it in a vise and had to work it back and forth. It’s s little better. Y’all should have checked the hinges before shipping!

    Hey Mathieu, it's generally not a problem to use a stainless steel hinge on an aluminum trailer but if you wanted to never worry about galvanic corrosion you'd just need to use an isolator to prevent contact between the two metals. We use gardening plastic for this here because it's cheap, easy to find, and very reliable.

    Hi Daniel, Mounting hardware is not included with the stainless steel T-Strap Hinge # PLR3408-SS, so you'll have to source it at a local hardware store. You'll just need bolts (or screws depending on how you want to mount it) that fit the 3/8" diameter holes on the bracket.

    I recommend replacing the hinges on your 1990 Sooner SH slant trailer with the T-Strap Hinge # PLR3408-SS. These hinges are stainless steel for increased life and are stronger than the aluminum hinges you currently use. They are also have a larger mounting pattern than the Butt Hinge # PLR1005 you are looking at as a replacement. This will ensure the hinge has sufficient surface area on the door to support the weight of the door.

The measurement you asked for of the flat part of the bracket is the 1-5/8 inches you mentioned. If you include the pin it is about 2 inches.
