Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the CURT Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for the Ford trucks. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2023 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks, excluding the Cabin Chassis models. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model of vehicle.
It'll show if this will work for your application. Now, these brackets here are designed to mount beneath your truck bed, and they provide the attachment points right here for your fifth wheel rails to attach to. Now, those rails we do sell separately. It will require the CURT Base Rails, either part number C16104, C16204, or the C16205. Now, those three different sets are all the same base rails, they just have different finishes to them, and we do sell them separately on our website.
Now, this is designed to work with the BMW, the CURT, the Draw-Tite, the Hidden Hitch, the Reese, and the Husky above bed fifth wheel trailer hitches. Now, these brackets here will provide a custom fit by mounting to existing holes in your vehicle's frame. I'm gonna zoom in from the side. If you notice, the holes that are already installed in here, these will line up with the holes on your frame, so it minimizes the amount of drilling that's required, which, in turn, will cut the installation time in half when compared with the universal bracket kits that are out there. Now, this does include all the necessary hardware.
If we zoom in on that. It'll includes your hardware here. It includes a nice set of detailed instructions, how it all goes together. Also on this, it features the galvanic isolator kit right here, which will include this roll of tape and these squares. And what those do is they'll install between the aluminum bed that's on the Ford trucks and the steel parts of this kit, and that's to prevent galvanic corrosion between the two different materials.
So that kit is all included. The finish on these brackets are a nice, black powder coat finish to resist corrosion. But that should do it for the review on the CURT Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for the Ford trucks.
I installed this on a 2025 F350 Supercab Long box. Everything fit well, the only item to be wary of is:
On the driver's side inside frame forward from the axle there is an emissions box or something of the sort. This makes accessing the area very difficult where you have to put the frame rail nut (NUT,SER-FLANGE,5/8-11 UNC,GRD8,YZ) and spacers for the bed/rail bolts, especially if you do not have a lift and you are working underneath the truck while on your back. Even worse, it is very easy to drop the spacers and the nut into the boxed metal frame surrounding the emissions box, which of course, happened twice and it was VERY difficult to fish them out.
Otherwise, this is a solid product and I would recommend it. Also, etrailer has EXCELLENT staff on their customer service and placing orders, Joshua B. helped me out.
Hardware bag was ripped open and 1 item was missing.
the item was 16431-SP-P Spacer - Powdered. It had one for one side but not the other. Called etrailer and they will be sending a replacement. If it would have need a net or bolt, I would have just bought one, but this is made for the bed of the truck.
Kit came with all the hardware and instructions. Easy to understand.
