Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the ARC Lighting Load Resistor for LED Lights

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at this ARC lighting load resistor for LED lights. Guard against LED-related turn signal problems with this load resistor kit. This simple effective system builds resistance that corrects flash timing, thereby preventing the hyperflash phenomenon that occurs with LED indicators. As you can see, it features a compact design for tight applications, and pulling out my ruler here, let me just give you some overall measurements. The length, we are sitting right at 3 1/2 inches long, and about an inch and a half wide. And then the thickness, we're sitting right at half an inch.

And I measured this wire length earlier and we're sitting right at 13 inches long for both of those wires. So this is going to install quickly and easily and it's going to work with most import and domestic vehicles. It is constructed of a black anodized aluminum and the load is going to be six Ohms. And this has the capacity of 25 Watts. The current draw, 1.9 amps at 12 volts and 2.25 amps at 14.4 volts.

And it includes everything that you see on the table here before me. It includes the resistor, two quick-splices and a piece of 3M double-coated tissue tape. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy.

Thank you for joining me..

The ARC Lighting Load Resistor worked at ridding my 2024 Bronco Sport of the error message when I had LED towing lights hooked up to the 4 pin connector. My only issue is when in use, the resistor got very hot (too hot to touch). Otherwise, I would rate it an excellent.

  • Solution for Bulb Out Error Code Towing Trailer with 2024 Ford Bronco Sport
Hey Mike, this is a pretty common issue with newer vehicles and LED trailer taillights unfortunately but there are ways to fix it. You can swap the trailer lights to incandescent like you mentioned or you can add load resistors like the part # ARC22VR on the trailer's wiring for the running light circuit and that will simulate the load.

  • How to Install the ARC Lighting Load Resistor for LED Lights
There's not a wiring diagram for the ARC Lighting Load Resistor for LED Lights - Quick Splice # ARC22VR however the installation is pretty simple. All you're going to need to do is take one end of the resistor and connect it to the ground on your turn signal light, and the other end to the positive side of your turn signal. There is no negative or positive on the resistor so you'll just need to pick a side and begin with that.

  • Load Resistor to Prevent ARC LED Bulb From Hyperflashing on 2020 F-250
Hey Christopher, thanks for reaching out! The WT21W LED Bulbs # ARC79GR you're looking at do not have a built-in resistor. For that you'll need the ARC Lighting Load Resistor for LED Lights # ARC22VR to prevent that hyperflashing.

  • Looking For Weather Resistant Load Resistor For Boat Trailer LED Lights
Hey Brandon, thanks for reaching out. If you’re looking for a load resistor that can handle the elements on a boat trailer, the ARC LED Load Resistor # ARC22VR is a solid option. It is not specifically rated as submersible, but it has an anodized aluminum housing that does a good job holding up to moisture and corrosion when mounted in a protected spot on the trailer frame. Most installers mount these a little higher up on the frame rail or inside the tongue area so they are not sitting...
