This product gets a three based on shipping condition only. etrailer customer service and shipping time was excellent as usual. The shipment arrived 2 days after the order was placed, as promised. However, as others have noted, the product packing is poor. The boxes arrived with significant damage resulting in cosmetic damage to several parts. I haven't put the hitch to use yet but I am assuming it will work correctly. I will leave a followup after I use it.

by: Joe01/04/2024

The hitch arrived nicely packed in two boxes. Very easy to assemble and install on my existing bed rails. I took the RV out for a first run with the hitch, and it performed as advertised. It was a no fuss transaction and the hitch arrived on-time!

I damage my old hitch on Wednesday and ordered this one and it came very fast had it in on Saturday afternoon and was able to make my east bound trip.
As always etrailer came through for me again. Thank You

I like the pin being surrounded by the jaws instead of just a bar across the back of the pin. The 16K seems to hold the pin tighter and helping to reduce chucking while towing. I had a slider due to when I bought this last 5th wheel, it was kind of forced onto me saying they couldn't let me leave without a slider with a short bed truck. But after I got home, I ordered a Reece Sidewinder, of which I had one on our first 5th wheel back in 2007. This is my third sidewinder and wouldn't pull without one. The Reece 16K hooks up good and towing without the worry of turning to sharp when getting fuel are days gone by, thanks to these 2 combined together.
The first Reece 16k I received had something just not right and I was having a heck of a time trying to hitch up. Sent Nicole here at eTrailer a picture of the jaws a little misaligned. Nicole got back with me quickly and we had a short conversation, and just a few days later I received a replacement head. That's service!!

by: Bob08/09/2021

The first hitch arrived damaged in shipping. The dent was minor but it was on the receiver plate so I asked to return it.

A lot of vendors would have pushed back on an 89 pound box being sent back but the etrailer team set up the return and shipment of the new hitch. No problem.

The new hitch arrived in good shape this afternoon. It took me about a half hour to install with normal tools and a torque wrench. Directions were clear, the parts fit, and I appreciate having the knowledgeable people at etrailer to fall back on.

There are a lot of things owners can fix themselves with the support of quality products, knowledge, and great customer service etrailer delivers.

A friend & I started at 9am and had this in my truck at 11:30......We measured 3-4 times but evey hole lined up perfectly. On the 2010 truck frame yoiu do not need to take the spring bumpers off. On the inside of frame just above the bumpers is a large hole that serves the pupose of feed in the wire and then the bushing ,metal plate then the bolt We added large washers on the side of mount plate then lock washer then nut when mouunting plate to frame. We felt that the lock wash might not work properly if it was not on level surface. The holes are large to allow for movement and lock wash could be inaffective if it was not on flat surface.......Also ordered this item on a Tuesday was here on Friday...

will this work with an air ride setup

Patrick B.

8/4/2014

Short answer is, it depends. This 5th Wheel kit installs on the outboard side of the frame. If the air ride kit installs on the inboard side of the frame, that's good. The other thing to be aware of is bolt holes. Some air rides will need to use the same bolt hole locations. To ensure compatibility, check the instructions of the air ride kit you're considering against the instructions of this 5th wheel kit to see if they're any interferencs in mounting points.

by: Joe H.03/31/2019

Delivery was fast and packaged well.
This
is my first 5th wheel hitch and has worked great for me pulling a shorter camper with a long bed 3/4 ton truck. Nice height adjustability to match the truck with the trailer. Good solid feel while pulling.

by: Ralph07/08/2020

Product is good quality as it appeared --5th wheel itself was not delivered with rest of kit--arrived three days later. Installation easy.
Installation kit fits perfect-easy installation. Only variable was I had pre-existing air springs , so I had to mark and drill the frame brackets and install the air springs on the outside of the brackets--no big deal--worked out fine

2011 Ford F150 XLT
Base rail instalation
kit for fifth wheel hitch. Once you have the measurements for the rails in your bed. The rest is pretty simple. Follow directions and it'll all go together. Only issue is not being able to torque the nuts to the carriage bolts that come from the bed to the rails. I tried using a crows foot on my torque wrench. Couldn't get it. Other then that about 2 hour instal.

Still working perfectly after a year in service. Thanks

by: Louis03/16/2020

I spent a whole day installing the Reese 16k hitch and custom quick mounting rails in a 2020 F150. Video was great and I advise you to watch it a couple of times before installing. Paper instructions not so good. If you have a 36 gallon fuel tank, I recommend you to do this install on a lift. I do not recommend you to install on your garage floor especially if you are 67 years old, still sore from laying on my back. You must remove spare tire and heat shield. I installed with tires on and very tight working around large fuel tank area. Going on a test drive to see if everything holds together.

by: Marcus03/31/2022

Because it was a new model truck, finding the right hitch became a challenge. etrailer was very helpful in sorting it out. 4,000 miles later we are happy campers

by: Daniel03/10/2018

Looks like this is going to be a perfect fit for what I need to pull my 2011 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8265WS, 5th wheel trailer with the Revolution pin box. Just had it installed & after many years of driving truck with a 5th wheel, I can tell this is a good sturdy 5th wheel & looks good too.

by: Greg 04/11/2024

I very much appreciate the expedited shipping and the follow-up. Appears all made it in good shape. Have put you guys on my favs along with Harbor freight,

by: Gary 03/05/2023

Excellent hitch for pulling my 5th wheel. Unhooks a lot easier than my last hitch. My last hitch would bind up and pin would not release at jaws. I would have to move truck up or back to get it just right for it would release. I’m not having that issue with this hitch. Major plus for me!! E trailer is good to work with. It was back ordered a few weeks but overall happy with the hitch.

by: Nancy04/19/2023

Legs were not as heavy and our original 15k. Difficulty getting one of the legs into the original rails. Slight difference in center to center. Release does work much smoother than our old hitch As for etrailer, the hitch arrived in three days, No shipping charge. Great service.

by: Terry07/24/2023

The hitch had several large scratches on the front leg decals and a lot of smaller scratches and dings on the painted surfaces. This was caused by inadequate packing materials. The parts should be packaged so they are not allowed to touch and rub against each other during transit. One of the mounting pins did not have a machined groove for the locking clip. I had to use an old pin I had from the hitch I replaced. I would like to get a replacement pin that has a groove for the locking pin as the one I'm using is 20+ years old. I had to drill out the hole for the cotter pin that attaches the handle. The pin would not go through until I drilled it out. On the flip side the hitch is what I expected it to be and seems to be well built and should do what I need it to do. I gave you 3 stars due to the packaging issues and the pin with no groove.

by: Adam04/09/2021

Nice hitch, relatively easy to assemble & install, took about 1 1/2 hours. Will be trying it out this weekend.

by: Roger T.03/03/2016

After getting the rear rail installed, I used the hitch to set the front rail. I worked perfectly. I can remove the hitch without any binding. This was a problem with my old hitch on my old truck that was installed by the service department where I bought my original 5th wheel trailer.
This is basically the same hitch as I had before on my old truck and I had no problems with it after towing approximately 37,000 miles over 15 years so I expect that this hitch will give me the same service.

by: Ron01/05/2017

The hitch has worked as expected. I would expect nothing but from Reese. During our last trip the hitch started to creek so I removed the top and applied a little grease. This unit is working in conjunction with a Revolution king pin box on our 5th wheel. We are very pleased with this unit for our application.
Etrailer has been our go to place for many trailering items. I would recommend them overall for customer and product performance

by: Troy 07/20/2021

The hitch was installed on Valley Rails which was previously installed on my 2004 Silverado 3500. The hitch fit on the rails and during the first pull performed outstanding. I pull a 41ft 5th wheel and I am impressed with the double jaw lock.

2007 FordF-150

The ease of website navigation and the efficient service were second to none. The order shipped so fast and was delivered in two days. My only problem was the hardware in my assembly kit was missing three cotter pins. That was such a minor issue it is barely worth mentioning. I am so pleased with the product and the service. I will most definitely keep my business with you. Thanks for a great job. I will be towing a 30’ fifth wheel camper with my new Reese hitch.

My Reese fifth wheel is hitch is still performing flawlessly after a years worth of service. I appreciate your follow up and thanks for the great service you extend to your customers.

by: Greg 08/19/2018

Great 5th wheel hitch and best price I could find. It fit into the rails on my 2012 Ford F250 perfectly. Very pleased with ETrailer's fast delivery and reliable products.

by: Lance07/08/2023

Another case of Reese's failure to package their products properly. What used to be bright and shiny delivered scratched, covered in areas of the paint rubbing on cardboard. Screws missing, release handle bent to where it wouldn't slide over the rod. Hammer marks on the legs which would seem to indicate someone already tried to mount it and returned it. 30 minute job turned into 2hrs of cussing. But at least it showed up in two days. I hope whoever bought out Reese brings a better process to the market, but the chances I'd buy it are pretty slim.

Part # 58054 is the klip rings. There are no written instructions for replacing the rod. But you will have to remove the head of the hitch and turn it over to get more access to the internal parts. • How is Height Setting for Fifth Wheel Hitch Selected
  • The reason fifth wheel hitches are height adjustable is to allow you to pick a setting that will allow your trailer to be towed level. One way to get the height setting would be to measure from the pin box surface of your trailer down to the ground when the trailer is level and also from the truck bed height down to the ground. The difference between these two dimensions would be the height setting to use.

  • I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50081-58 for your 2014 F150 Supercrew with 6-1/2 foot bed. This is a custom rail kit for your truck that uses the holes already in your frame for the mounting brackets. It will give you an industry standard set of rails compatible with your hitches. I've attached an installation video of a 2013 model F-150 so you can see what the install will look like on your 2014. You may

  • Parts Needed to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer with a 2003 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 ft Bed
  • The base rail kit I recommend is part # RP30035. This is a 10-bolt installation kit that includes the rails, brackets, and hardware needed that fits your 2003 Ford 5-150 with 5-1/2 foot bed. Then for a hitch there is only one option that will give you enough clearance to make tight turns. For that you would want the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550040. This hitch will automatically slide 22-1/2 inches when making tight turns to give you the needed clearance to make tight turns.

  • Hitch Receiver & 5th Wheel Towing Capacities for 2012 Ford F-150 Super Cab
  • The best place to confirm your truck's towing capacity is in your owner's manual. The base 2012 F-150 is rated for a 5000-lb towing capacity unless equipped with the heavy-duty trailer towing package. Higher towing ratings may apply depending on whether you have 2WD or 4WD and depending on your truck's wheelbase. I suggest you check pages 272 and 273 of your owner's manual to find your exact towing capacity based on your specific truck's mix of equipment. Please see the linked image taken

  • Which 5th Wheel Mounting Bracket/Rail Kit for Installing RBW X-16 on 2011 Ford F-350
  • The RBW X-16 5th wheel hitch is compatible with industry standard bed rails that are included with hitch install kits from Curt, Reese, Draw-Tite, Valley, Husky, Demco and B&W, among others. I'd recommend the Custom 5th wheel bracket/rail kit from Reese, part # RP50026-58. You won't need to drill into the truck frame to install this kit, but you will need to drill down through the bed to attach the bed rails to the frame brackets. To install a 7-way connector in the truck bed, I'd

  • Difference Between Fifth Wheel Installation Kits For 2013 Ford F-150 With 8 Foot Truck Bed
  • There are a couple differences between the installation kits you mentioned for your 2013 F-150. The # RP30035-426 kit is a semi-custom installation kit that requires drilling into the truck frame. This is a more labor intensive installation and it takes quite a while longer to install the base rails. Installation of the # RP50081-58 kit is much easier and requires much less drilling as it uses the holes inthe truck frame to install the brackets. The installation of the # RP56006-53

  • Sidewinder Model Compatibility for Fabex 520 Fifth Wheel Pin Box
  • We do have the 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret # RP61412. It will not only do great at providing clearance, but you will no longer feel every bump and clang that transfers from the fifth wheel to the tow vehicle. The air ride king pin will isolate a great deal of that, providing a much more comfortable ride. Ideally, you'll want to use a stationary 5th wheel hitch with a Sidewinder, but if you already have a slider you'll just want to make sure

  • 5th Wheel Installation Kit and Air Helper Springs for a 2013 Ford F-150 Short Bed
  • The 5th wheel installation kit for your 2013 Ford F-150, # RP50081-58, has frame brackets that mount on the outboard sides of the frame rails. Any air helper springs will need to install in a different location to work with this kit. I have included a link to a video showing installation of this kit for you. If your truck is a 2-wheel drive you can use # AL57228 from Air Lift without any interference. I have linked a video showing installation of this kit for you. If your truck is

  • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Short Bed and RBW Lil Rocker
  • The RBW Lil Rocker 5th wheel trailer hitch will fit in standard above the bed rails from Reese, Curt, or Husky. The hitch can easily be removed from the rails but the rails will permanently be in the truck bed. The rails will only be minimally invasive though and it should work out well for you. For a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab short bed I recommend the semi-custom installation kit # RP30035-023. There will only be minimal drilling to install this hitch (when compared to a universal

  • 5th Wheel Hitch Installation Kit Needed for a 2010 Ford F-150 Towing With a RBW Lil Rocker 15K Hitch
  • I would recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, item # RP50081-58, for your 2010 Ford F-150. The rails in this kit will accept your Lil Rocker hitch and the custom install kit installs much faster and easier than any other kit we carry. I have linked installation instructions for the # RP50081-58 kit and we have a video installation with a custom kit going into a 1998 Ford F-150 that should help with your installation also.

  • Does Reese Custom Fifth Wheel Rail Kit # RP50081-58 Fit with Reese Hitch RP30047
  • The Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP50081-58 that you referenced is a fit with your Reese fifth wheel hitch part # RP30047. The only drilling needed to install this kit will be from the top of the truck bed through the rail to the underside of the bed. I confirmed this by checking the install instructions that I attached to this page as well.

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2010 Ford F-150 5.5 ft Bed Towing Trailer with Sidewinder
  • The Sidewinder will still be your best possible option with the truck you have. You basically would have some turning clearance reduction but in most cases you don't need to make a full 90 degree turn when backing up. The part # RP50081-58 is a fit for your 2010 Ford F-150 and is the best choice for a rail kit because it minimizes drilling and install time when compared to a universal kit. The Reese # RP30867 would then be a great option for a hitch too as it has a tight jaw system to

  • Recommended Bracket/Rail Kit for RBW 5th Wheel Hitch on 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD
  • If the RBW hitch you have is compatible with industry standard bed rails (I know for a fact that their Lil' Rocker is), then it will work great with industry standard bed rails from Curt, Reese, B&W, Demco, Husky or Valley. I'll provide you a photo showing the hitch mounting tab spacing for a set of industry standard rails. You'll just need to measure the front to back and side to side center to center distance of the mounting tabs on your hitch. I'd recommend using a custom bracket

  • Below Bed Brackets to Mount 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch in a 2013 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed
  • I can certainly help get you the right mounting brackets for the 5th wheel rails on your 2013 Ford F-150 6-1/2 foot bed. The issue though is that there are different styles of Reese rails and to get you the right brackets I have to know which version of the rails you have. Reese has 10 bolt rails, # RP58058, that have holes on the outer edges; and there are 4-bolt rails, 30124 that have elongated holes on the tops of the rail ends. The 4-bolt rails are not really used anymore. For

  • Dimension to Use to Install Reese Fifth Wheel Rail Kit part # RP50081-58
  • When installing the Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP50081-58 that you referenced the rear edge of the rear rail will be exactly 28-11/16 inches from the rear edge of the truck's bed. You should note that this rail kit is for a 2004 to 2014 Ford F-150. This measurement is correct for all truck bed lengths of the F-150. This puts the center of the fifth wheel king pin approximately 2-1/4 inches forward of the rear axle. Since you have a 2008 Ford Super Duty short bed you'd instead

  • Can Pro Series Fifth Wheel Hitch Fit 2004 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft Bed and Tow Trailer
  • I cannot find any information on a Pro Series fifth wheel hitch with the part number 13195, but all of the Pro Series hitches from 3 years ago were designed to fit industry standard fifth wheel rails so we can help. The rail kit you need is the part # RP50081-58 which is a custom fit rail kit that will minimize drilling when compared to a universal kit. This hitch is confirmed as a fit for your 2004 Ford F-150. Since you have such a short bed you will need to replace your current
