Secure, Two-Piece Jaw

Q24 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q24 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

2012 Ram 3500

2012 ram 3500 mega cab short bed! Well from all the reviews I’ve read, and the video, I gathered about 5-6 hours to install by myself, which was very accurate, directions say 90 min instal, not! It was the 5-6 hour range, regardless it went in as the directions and video said! Take your time measure it out double check everything, the kit is great, follow directions and watch the video you can do it in your driveway!

by: Steven04/21/2024

Takes a bit longer than expected. Figure in a day for the above bed install kit. I'll post back after I make a 2000 mile trip with the 40' RV. Have a great day everyone!

by: Sean03/20/2024

Truly happy with this product and can't wait to go to work! etrailer sent me everything I requested and the installer had no problems. Everything was packed well in shipping with no problems.

2006 Dodge Ram Pickup

I had to customize some of the brackets to make them work on my truck. As well as add some spacers under the front rail so when it was tightened it would remain flat. The kit is usable if you have the ability to make it work. But when I buy something like this I expect it to go on without messing with it.

2005 Dodge Quad Cab Dully , Cedar Creek 36 ckts 16k
very nice hitch , shipped relay fast 3 days to east coast, easy to install : had rails from old hitch,
it did come a LITTLE scratched up from shipping . one thing i wish it had more height / it does sit lower than old hitch buy 1 inch. haven't tried pulling yet / will up date latter . hope it pulls as good as it looks.
now no problem for bigger trailer, i hope! maybe a toy hauler?

by: Dwayne B09/11/2020

I purchased a higher rated (weight) Curt hitch to prevent 'rolling' forward during hard stops. The new hitch far exceeds my trailer weight but I continue to have the problem, although not as often. I had the new hitch professionally installed.

by: Mark 04/25/2023

This product is certainly stout. It doesn't seem to have any ability to rock and roll with terrain which concerns me some.

by: Michael07/30/2020

I love dealing with Etrailer, unit came in one piece and early......and OMG this hitch is incredible!! 4 bolts and it's in. I hitched up literally in minutes. CURT makes it idiot proof...

by: Paula07/09/2018

Have not had the opportunity to use the new hitch to pull our RV, but did hook up to the RV to check height and ease of hookup, it's great, very happy with this hitch so far.
Ease of ordering was excellent, received it within 5 days in great condition.

I still have no complaints I have pulled my 35ft fifth wheel camper multiple times already and it did great. I have since recommended etrailer site to everybody I know that needs hitches. Thank you again for making it so easy to order and install!

by: Mike12/11/2018

I bought this hitch because I am a firm believer in buy heavier than I need for safety. This hitch has been absolutely wonderful. The fifth wheel pull great with no jarring and the solid feel when attached is comforting. I can easily reach everything I need to set the hitch and lock it. The jaws are very easy to tell if I am completely hooked or not and the lock works great for a quick look to tell if ready. This hitch was very well priced (cheaper than lighter rated models) without being of "cheap" quality. I have enjoyed this hitch very much and thank goodness it breaks down into pieces for removal as it is a very heavy unit.

by: Lloyd C.11/07/2016

Got my Curt Q24 finally. A very good, quality, heavy hitch. It was just a little scratched up, in same spots as all others seems to post - do to shipping by UPS. Etrailer did double box it to help, so all in all it wasn't bad. It is definitely a heavy hitch, but being able to quickly break it into pieces (head removes easily) makes it much more manageable to put in and out of the truck. Can't wait for the trailer to get in so I can try out this hitch...
Installed onto Curt rails in a 2006 F350, with no issue. Will be pulling a 18k 43' 5er soon!
Shipping was a bit on the slow side compared to other reviews - took 2 weeks to get it, but luckily my trailer is also delayed so I didn't need it immediately.

by: John S.07/08/2016

We took it to a shop to have it installed. It looks great, and the features to make sure our 5th wheel is securely locked in place give us peace of mind. And it's nice that the rails are made just for our 2016 Ram 3500 long bed. It really is well made and is a brute. Can't wait to get out on the road.

2011 Dodge Ram Pickup

This is a well put together package. The fact that you do not have to drill the frame makes things much easier. That said, it is still a lot of work and if you do not have all the tools needed and a lift you will be at this install for quiet some time.

The spare tire has to be removed and if there is a spare tire shield it will have to go as well. The inner fenders need to come out and at that point you will find it is easier if the tires and wheels are out of the way. It is a bit of work to get the right rear bracket in with the tail pipe in place. Also the spacers that go into the frame are also hard to get in place. Lastly, you will still have to drill holes in the bed.

With all this work required, I am very glad that I did not have to drill the frame also.

by: Gary R.06/10/2016

Haven't towed with it yet,but looks like it will be more user friendly than my previous hitch.I had to adjust my rails a little to get it to fit.Shipping speed was excellent. While etrailer wrapped and stapled over the manufacturer box the contents when opened had several places where the paint was missing due to parts rubbing together during shipment.

by: Kenneth d10/09/2018

The Hitch was very good quality very easy to install in the 2018 Dodge Ram Total installation by myself was under an hour I plan on using it to move travel trailers fifth wheels around for people

by: Randy08/30/2023

I’m very happy with the ease of ordering and the information videos that Curt had available before I made my purchase. When I received myQ24 hitch it was great quality and very easy to assemble it also works better than expected.
Thank you etrailer

by: Gary 12/28/2023

fair price. Simple installation.

by: David A02/18/2017

Ordered my Curt 24k 5th wheel hitch on Tuesday, received around 230 Friday, and was installed by 5pm same day ( already had the rails). I am anxious to hook up my Heartland Big Country 3650RL to my 2006 Chevrolet dually and roll down the highway.
The hitch is alI i expected it to be, and it is quite heavy, but managed to get it installed by myself after reading the great installation instructions. As in other posts, slight scratches during shipping due to packing materials used by Curt, not etrailer's fault.
My RV has a tongue weight of 2350 lbs, 14000 overall, and 39'6" lenghth. Expectations are high that this hitch will handle it well! Thanks for the great service

by: Anthony 11/16/2023

Hitch was easy to install the fit is perfect & shipping was right on time.

2018 Dodge Ram Pickup

2005 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Short Bed. Xlnt kit, easy install. The installation instructions could have been better. I suggest watching the video on youtube and setting up the rails and hitch on the garage floor first. Take measurements between rail hole rows (row 2 to row 3 - 17 3/4") and add 3/4" for front bed support clearance - 18 1/2". Looking over a rear tire and measuring from the front bed support, My row 2 needed to be rear of center by 1/2". This puts my rear rail at 26 1/4 instead of 26 3/4" from the tailgate. Then everything lined up perfect. The fish wire provided really works great ( threads on to the bolt like a nut). My only problem was the spacer that gets fished with the carriage bolt was to wide for the large hole in my frame. I cut a 1/4" off the spacer and that was the only modification I made to this kit. Not all trucks are the same. XLNT kit, I was impressed !

This is a little confusing. Is the correct measurement 26 34 or 26 1/4 ??I installed a Curt rail kit a couple years ago. I do recall that if you use the instructiondimension...things line up better on a Dodge front rail if everything would have been about a 1/2 inch further rearward. Is there any way this can be clarified? I am starting on another install today. thanks.

Patrick B.

3/28/2014

The most current instructions for part # C16420 rail kit state that the measurement from end of bed to rear most edge of the rear rail is 26-3/4 inches on a 6 foot bed. Check out the instructions linked on the product page for more details and a couple of diagrams.

by: Quinton01/20/2021

Easy to use. Hook up is smooth. The draw handle pulls easily when ready to disconnect. Just be sure to have the weight of the trailer off of the truck before trying to pull the handle. I have found that the handle does not always lock in the open position and occasionally needs to be held open as the truck is driven forward.

by: Brett01/29/2017

Received my hitch very quickly, two days with free shipping. However, the hitch did arrive with a couple scraps. The company needs to work on the packaging and shipping prep. That being said, I am very happy with the hitch and the company. I called them prior to buying it and they answered all my questions, very helpful. I'd definitely buy another product from them.

2012 Ram 2500

Fish wire was too short for long bed installation. Instructions did not address how to clear my brake lines on the left side front bracket. Overall the installation was not as easy as the video depicts. I am a professional mechanic for over 30 years.

2007 Dodge Ram Pickup

So here I am 1 year later and 7000 + miles later having towed/hauled a 30' Keystone Cougar with the Curt E16K hitch and bed rails.
I installed the item and it was fairly easy with the help of a friend to help tighten bolts and nuts. On the rails I have the E16K Curt Hitch in a 2007 - 2500 Dodge Ram Cummins. I used to remove the Hitch after every trip. That lasted for the first 2-3 times. It is darn heavy to remove and put back in. So now I leave it installed in the truck and remove it when/if I need to haul something in the bed.

Hope this helps your decision and Happy Hauling :o)

I also recommend going with a long bed truck so you have enough clearance when making sharper turns. A diesel engine has more towing power and torque, so that may be an option you go for. If you get an automatic transmission you will want to make sure the vehicle has a transmission cooler. If you choose a Ford I recommend

  • There are several factors that lead to the proper 5th wheel trailer hitch for a truck. But first, you will need an installation kit for your 2011 Ram 2500. I recommend Curt custom installation fit # C16420-204. Custom kits require less drilling compared to universal and semi-custom kits and they install quicker. Next you would want to choose between a fixed 5th wheel hitch and a slider. If you have a short bed truck you will need a slider. If you have a long bed truck you will use a

  • Is There An Offset 5th Wheel Install Kit for a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500
  • The correct Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 is part # C16420-204. This kit will place the kingpin over the center of the axle. That said, it sounds like you are looking for a kit which will move the kingpin behind the rear axle. I assume this is to improve turning clearance but is unfortunately not an option. The kingpin needs to be placed over the rear axle or as close as possible to achieve an acceptable ride quality. If you need more turning clearance

  • Can the Curt 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation kit be Moved 1/2 Inch Forward on a 2003 Dodge Ram
  • You will want to install the rear rail in Curt 5th wheel installation kit # C16420-204 at the specified distance of 26-3/4 inches on a short bed 2003 Ram. The rail needs to be in that specific location because the brackets that attach to the frame need to go in a certain spot on the frame. If you moved the rail you would either have to move the brackets, and they would not fit properly, or move the rail and then it would not line up with the bracket. The rail placement also will put

  • Curt Q24 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500
  • Yes, you could use the Curt Custom Rail Kit # C16420-204 that you referenced as a rail kit for a fifth wheel hitch in the bed of your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 6 ft bed. You will need to get a hitch with a slider to allow you to make 90 degree turns. When the slider is activated it will move the hitch 12 inches further back. I would recommend you get a Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R24 Slider # C16546 to go with the # C16420-204. This is a slider hitch that should provide you

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2010 Dodge Ram for RBW Lil Rocker
  • The RBW Lil Rocker fifth wheel hitch will fit industry standard fifth wheel rails. So for a set of them for a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 the Curt Custom rails part # C16420-204 have been confirmed as a fit and would work great with the hitch. This is a custom fit set of rails that will install in about half the time as a universal kit and will minimize drilling. These rails are also better priced than most universal kits so it's hard not to use them.

  • Recommended Base Rail Kit For A 2006 Dodge Ram Dually With A Husky 5th Wheel Hitch
  • I would first verify that your Husky fifth wheel hitch is designed to work with Industry Standard Rails (ISR) with the manufacturer. If not, then they should be able to tell you the exact rails that you'll need. If they can be used on ISR then you'll want to get some new rails for your Husky to drop into. For a 3500 Dually you'll need the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Dodge Ram # C16420-204. I've attached a short video below where Nick will walk you through the installation

  • Rail Placement in 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed for Pullrite SuperGlide ISR 5th Wheel Hitch
  • We do not carry the Pullrite SuperGlide hitch but the 2900 series will fit in industry standard rails which we do carry. For your 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed the placement of the rails is going to depend on the kit used. For a custom installation kit you can use # C16420-204. From the rear edge of the truck bed (not the tailgate) measure forward 26-3/8 inches. This is where the back edge of the rear rail will be. Then you would use the hitch to position the front rail. For a semi-custom

  • Brackets and Hardware Only to Install 5th Wheel Rails in a 2012 Ram 2500 Short Bed
  • Yes, you can just get brackets and hardware without the rails for your 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed. Industry standard rails will either have bolt holes for a 4-bolt installation or holes for a 10-bolt installation. To get you the right parts we just have to match the type of rail you have to the right bracket kit. I have included pictures showing 4- and 10-bolt rail designs that will help. If you know the manufacturer of the rails that will help too. Generally we don't recommend mixing
