Most Popular Proportional System for 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I could not find anyone in Georgia that had installed the AF1 on a Jeep Grand Cherokee and eTrailer had several videos of their installs so we drove 700 miles to get it installed by these pros. They did a fantastic job and the system is great! The main unit is in the engine bay and you have to get on your knees to see the connection to the pedal. The Grand Cherokee is heavy but I don't feel any difference when towing and it has no effect on driving the the car. I'd give it and eTrailer 6 stars if I could!

had to make a bracket for under driver seat because the e brake would not allow the g-force controller to be place on the side panel. the wires had to be extended to reach up to the controller in the engine compartment. Used a piece of aluminum plate to make a bracket mounted on strut frame that can easily be moved for other maintenance

We’ve used the AF1 braking system for over a year. Flat towing nearly 20,000 miles and dozens of connects and disconnects pulling a Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Connection is simple. The proportional Brake function is reliable and consistent. Glad we went this route.

Compared to my previous Blue Ox Patriot 2010, I like that it is half the weight and sets up easily. The Patriot 2010 would sometimes refuse to set up. I do not like the remote control for the new Patriot. The one for the Patriot 2010 had a knob for setting the braking force and I could quickly turn it to zero to deactivate it if it had been activated by a rough road, or if it was braking continuously on a long downhill. With the new remote, I have to press several buttons to get to the force setting, then press the button several times to change the setting. Also, the warning beep is not loud enough to hear in the noisy Class C cabin.

Arrived on time. Installed it myself after watching some UTube videos. Fits abs functions great on 2014 Tiffin Red with 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

After a year of use, the Air Force system is still working perfectly. Have used it to tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 13k miles so far.

Towing a 2020 F250SD with powerstroke. The Blue Ox Patriot 3 just would not press the petal enough. This applies the breaks well. Had to mount the box behind grill due to no room under hood. Used some copper wire to make sure it stayed in place. Had to cut a bit of the plastic cover over radiator. One thing did that was a little off the instructions is I did not run power into cab with air hose. I took power off my charging coach-> Toad charging circuit because it was under the bumper. For the reed switch I ran a wire to passenger side fuse box and used a fuse tap. Every thing else was pretty easy. I am pretty handy and have all tools needed. I installed in about 6 hr.

This system along with installation videos and info was exactly what I needed. I thank Alex J. for all the help making sure I had everything needed for my specific 2009 Wrangler. Systems, accessories, and installation vary by year and Jeep mods, Alex went above and beyond to make sure every part of this install worked for my specific rig setup and vehicle.
