When measuring for the correct cover for your Continental Tailwind 6 x 12 cargo trailer you will want to leave out the trailer tongue. If your Tailwind has a box that measures 12' in length then part # 290-46002 will fit great, however if you're wanting one that will also include the tongue then you'll need to add that length to the 12' box and choose a cover accordingly.
To cover your tongue you'll need to use either the 14' # 290-46003 or the 16' # 290-46004 depending on your tongue length. view full answer...

Anything stowed in the bed of the truck behind the rear axle should be included as tongue weight. For best performance, the tongue weight of the trailer should fall as close as possible to the middle of the effective range of the system you choose.
