About MeI'm a writer at heart, so first - thanks for reading what I've written! I literally cease to exist if no one reads my words. (Okay, maybe just figuratively. But I swear it feels that way.) As a writer, I love a good adventure and a good story. I grew up fishing, hiking, and biking, and I've carried a love of the outdoors into adulthood. Whether I'm hiking with friends, taking my e-bike on local trails, tending to my herb garden, or cruising on my motorcycle, my weekends usually involve getting outside. When I'm indoors, I'm usually snuggling with my fur babies and working on my novel (yes, often at the same time). I'm a lucky fur-mom to three black cats - Luna, Sam, and Dean. I love my job at etrailer, where I get to combine my love of writing with my outdoorsy pastimes. Plus, I get to try out all the cool gear and campers I could ever want! My #retirementgoals involve hitting the open road in a small camper and exploring every corner of the US, because I've also got a case of the travel bug. I've already got the Pinterest board ready. For now, I love writing and I love teaching people, and this job lets me do both. I get to help others live their best lives, stay active, and get outside. So, whether you're a seasoned camper or just getting started, I'm here to share tips, tricks, and a little bit of inspiration for your next adventure!
  • When did you start at etrailer?I started at etrailer in July of 2017 and have been here ever since!
  • What's your favorite thing about working at etrailer?I love learning and I love writing, so getting to do both every day is a blast. Plus, I work with some awesome people.
  • What is your favorite outdoor activity?Motorcycling has to be my favorite, but I'm also a fan of hiking, cycling, and kayaking.
  • What is your proudest achievement? 2024 champion of the Marketing Team annual camping trip competition. Let the Team Purple flag fly high.
Other Stuff I've WrittenAmber's Favorites
Thule EasyFold Bike Rack
Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack
I ride a step-through e-bike with fenders, so it's not so easy to find a rack that can handle it. This one delivers and then some. This is one of the few bike racks that puts the tilt-lever at the front where I can actually reach it!
Thule EasyFold Bike Rack
Goal Zero Crush Light Solar Lantern
I know, I know, it's "just a light." But when I'm camping in a tent or teardrop, one of my favorite parts is reading by a cozy light late at night. I just stick this light outside during the day, and it provides the perfect vibes come nightfall.
Black Erickson Ratchet Straps
Erickson Retractable Ratchet Straps
I moved a lot in my 20s, not to mention I still haul around furniture to flip, and one thing I've learned to appreciate is a reliable set of ratchet straps. Also, a pair that you DON'T have to untangle from the backseat every time you use them. Retractability, baby.
Moki Doorstep
Rightline Gear Moki Door Step
As a short, I need a little leg-up when I'm trying to strap stuff down on a roof rack or roof cargo carrier. This sturdy door step was made for people like me.
GasStop Shutoff Valve
GasStop Emergency Propane Shutoff Valve
Is it weird that a propane accessory is one of my favorite products? But I'm a worrier, and I'm always thinking about the worst case scenario. I've been able to test the GasStop myself, and after seeing it in action, I'll recommend these to literally everyone using propane at their house or the campsite.
