Video Transcript for Camco Garden Hose Y-Style Shut-Off Valve Review

Today, we'll be taking a look at the Camco Plastic Garden Hose Y-style Shutoff Valve, Part Number CAM20073. This Y-style valve connects a single garden hose connection into a two garden hose connection. Now we're out here at our single garden hose hookup. You'll see here this is a female side. There is a rubber washer in there that will eliminate any leads when we actually thread it on. Each of your two garden hose connections has an independent valve that allows you to control flow as well as pressure. You can see here there's a little plastic ball-style valve in there on both sides.

Just a simple quarter turn goes from fully open to fully closed. We'll just connect two standard female-end garden hoses to this side. You can have them either both in the open position or you can just close one down or you can have them both closed. We'll go ahead and hook it up. Start by threading this onto our faucet here.

Then go ahead and take our first garden hose, thread this one on here. An application that you might use this for is say if you're camping out with your RV or camper, you've hooked up to the single water source, and this line here would run to your camper for a fresh city water connection. This one here could be used if you've got your boat with you or something or you need to wash things off. Maybe the kids just got really dirty for the day and you need to hose them off before they're allowed back in the camper or RV. Now we've taken a single source of water and turned it into a double source. One additional thing about this Y-fitting, you don't have to have both hoses hooked up at the same time. You can simply turn the valve here; it will stop any water flow from coming out here.
