Video Transcript for Review of the Replacement U-Bolt w/Locknuts for 9,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles

Today we're going to review part number 11-64. This is the Redlinereplacement u-bolt with lock nuts for a 9,000-pound round trailer axle. This u-bolt, when used with another u-bolt like this and a u-boltplate -- which we do sell separately; it would be part number 12-42 -- withthe plate and two u-bolts, it would be used to attach your 9,000-poundround axle to your leaf springs. This does fit the 9,000-pound round axlewith a four-inch diameter. It includes the two lock nuts, and just a quickmeasurement on this. Again, the width here would be four inches, for thefour-inch diameter axle. Now, the length, as measured from the middle tothe edge of this, would be eight and one-eighth inches in length.

Thediameter on this bolt is five-eighths of an inch. That should do it forreview on part number 11-64, the Redline replacement u-bolt with the locknuts for a 9,000-pound trailer axle..

  • Availability Of 4-1/2" Wide U-Bolt
Hello Joseph, thanks for reaching out. The closest thing we have to that would be a 5" wide U-bolt like part # 11-70. I have included a picture with detailed dimensions for you. We do not have anything 4-1/2" wide. The next closest would be a 4" wide like part # 11-64.

  • Looking For U-Bolt To Fit 4" Axle
Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. We do offer one U-bolt for a 4" round axle, and that is part # 11-64. This U-bolt measures 8-1/8" long x 4" wide inside. The bolt is 5/8" diameter. We do not have anything 9/16", but if you have a 4" round axle it should still work for you. See the dimensions I included below. You can also see our current pricing below. If you think this will work, you can order directly from us. Leave a reply below. If you have any other questions or comments I...

  • Parts Needed To Switch From a Square to Round 4" Diameter Axle
In order to switch from a square to a round trailer axle you'll need new u-bolts, the U-Bolt part # 11-64 and Tie Plate part # 12-42 (2" Wide Leaf Springs) are correct for a 4" diameter axle.

  • Parts Needed For an Over-Under Kit For a 4" Diameter 9,000 lb. Axle
I do have an option for you but a 4" diameter axle is a 9,000 lb. axle. We do not have any over under kits for a 9,000 lb. axle. We can however piece together the parts that you would need. - Replacement U-Bolt w/Locknuts for 9,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles # 11-64 (you need 4) - U-Bolt Plate for 4" Diameter, Round Trailer Axles # 12-42 (you need 2) - Spring Seat for Typical 9,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles # 3-51 (you need 2) This would be enough for 1 axle, so if you have multiple axles...

  • How Thick Is The U-Bolt Plate # 12-42?
    The U-Bolt Plate # 12-42 is 0.31" thick. This will use the U-Bolt w/Locknuts # 11-64.

  • Can Lower Capacity Leaf Springs be Used if Trailer Isnt Loaded to Capacity
You can use the 4,500 lbs axle Leaf Spring # e27SR with your 4" axles rated for 9,000 lbs as long as the U-Bolt kit is compatible with a 1-3/4" leaf spring. The only U-Bolt plate that we carry for a 4" axle is part # 12-42 so you will need to figure out a way to take up the gap between the smaller leaf spring and the wider U-Bolts like part # 11-64. Also be sure that you don't exceed 9,000 lbs total with your trailer since the 4,500 lb leaf springs per axle will be the limiting factor.
