You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Lippert's anti-lock braking system earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. As it spins, sensors track wheel rotation by scanning the toothy tone ring inside the drum. This data is sent to the ABS system, preventing lockup and giving you improved control when braking.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our trailer hub and drum assembly for the Lippard anti-lock brake systems 8,000 pound axle rating, 12 and a quarter inch wide by four inches deep. And it is a eight lug on six and a half inch lug pattern. So folks, again, this is a replacement hub and drum assembly for the regular pre-greased trailer axles. Rated at 8,000 pound capacity or 4,000 pound for the individual hub.
And again, it's an eight on six and a half inch lug pattern. And again, this is a replacement for antilock brake systems only. And as you can see, it has this tooth edge to ring inside of here with those different colors painted on it. When this matches up with the other side. The sensors of the ABS system by Lippard that this is designed for, when it spins, it's gonna read those rotations, feed that data to the ABS system, and thus prevent wheel lock up and improve control while braking.
So again, this is only rated and made and designed to be used for in conjunction with Lippert's ABS system anti-lock brake system. And as such, if you're looking for a regular hub in this size, this is not the right one. So call, chat, email us, we can help get you to the right parts, the right page. This does fit a number 42 spindle. It uses a two and a quarter inch inner diameter seal and it fits primarily wheels between 16 and 17 and a half inches.
The bearing numbers are oh 2475, and 25580. And like I said, it does come pre greased. They have this little plastic sock on here that helps keep everything kind of nice and clean in the box. So I'll try to leave that on as much as I can just so I don't get dirty. And again, the seal and everything on the backside as well are already put in, ready to go outta the box.
