This hard retractable cover is built from heavy-duty 1" thick aluminum slats that resist dents, impacts, and harsh weather. When closed, it locks flat over the bed and overlaps the top of the tailgate to keep out rain, dust, and snow. Weather stripping and foam seals along all edges create a tight barrier, so your gear stays dry and protected no matter the season. The matte black finish is scratch-resistant and won’t fade in the sun, keeping the cover looking sharp over time.

When you need to carry large items or access your full bed, the cover slides open smoothly on sealed ball-bearing rollers. There are no hinges, joints, or springs to jam or wear out, so it glides evenly and doesn’t need lubrication. The cover retracts into a compact canister at the bulkhead that takes up minimal space, leaving room to slide long gear underneath. The spiral track inside the canister prevents the panels from rubbing together, which helps the cover last longer and stay smooth in operation.

The pop-up handle makes one-handed operation easy. You can lock the cover anywhere along the rails to secure part of your cargo while keeping room for taller items at the back. The handle sits flush when closed, hidden under a protective lid that shields the keyhole from dirt and moisture. Paired with a locked tailgate, this setup makes it extremely hard for anyone to pry open or cut through, keeping your tools and gear safe.

This cover isn’t just for looks—it’s strong. With a weight capacity of 500 lbs evenly distributed, it can handle snow loads or gear placed on top when closed. The rigid aluminum slats won’t sag or flex, so the bed stays protected even in tough conditions.
Installation is straightforward with clamp-on rails that mount 1" above the bed for a low-profile, streamlined look. The canister comes preassembled, so once it’s squared up on the bed rails, you just bolt it down and connect the included drain tubes. Those tubes route through existing drain holes to channel water away from the canister, keeping the retracted cover dry and clean.

After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!

Install looks great Jesse! We couldn’t agree more about the instructions. Honestly, unclear instructions are exactly why we started making our own install videos many moons ago, because seeing it done can make all the difference. It’s good to hear the cover feels solid and slides smoothly once installed. Your notes on water sealing and debris are fair, especially with RamBox-equipped beds and tailgate fitment. We appreciate you sharing your experience, and we hope it continues to serve you well over time.
