Hey, neighbors. This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at the LEER soft, roll-up tonneau cover made out of vinyl and aluminum for your 2024 Ford F-150. Now, this guy right here is gonna help you keep all of your truck bed accessories protected from the elements and out of sight. Some people feel that this is gonna increase your fuel economy. You can debate that, but either way, one thing we can agree on is it looks great on this truck. So let's take a closer look.
So as far as the soft, roll-up cover, what you're exchanging for security, 'cause you know it's just vinyl, you could cut into it, you're trading off for flexibility and visibility. With these soft covers, you're able to roll 'em up and still have visibility out your rear window. Our material is a UV-treated vinyl that's gonna hold up against the coldest temperatures and the hottest temps. It's designed to expand and contract with the elements outdoors, and also it'll repel water. As far as how it's constructed underneath, you're gonna have aluminum construction going across to help it keep the shape of the bed itself.
You're gonna have these release latches on both sides on a wire-driven system that's gonna let you release it from either way. And you're gonna have hook and loop on the sides to keep it right where it should be and allow it to just stay nice and flat over the top of your bed. (tonneau crunches) Along the middles, you're gonna have more aluminum. Nice, solid posts that go from one side to the other to keep everything nice and secure, and nice and taut how you would expect and want honestly. So if you have a nice fifth wheel in here, you definitely want it to try to seal out the elements as best as possible.
And to secure this guy, you're gonna use the included strap and clip and just hook it on both sides. And now you can still see, this doesn't even come up. So about where that back head rests is, so you still have a lot of visibility out the back of your pickup. When it's time to rid or pull your tonneau cover, you can actually secure your straps right here on the top so you don't have to climb all over to fish form 'em. A setup on this guy is super easy.
I mean it's really easy enough if you have a person or a kid that you want to have as a second set of hands to help you with the little home DIY project. It's just that easy enough to do this with. And as far as creating memories, we would love to see how you're setting up your truck and how you're using your tonneau cover. What you're keeping underneath your tonneau cover, all those things would be great, 'cause if you would like to share photos, reviews, or comments, do all those things underneath this video. Now all you're gonna need to get this guy set up is a box cutter or your favorite set of Allen keys, and we'll go ahead and get you rolling. Right out the package, you're not gonna need any additional tools, unless you have a Allen Key set that you just like better, but you'll have everything you need right out the box. You're just gonna need a box cutter to open it and to trim the insulation that goes at the bulkhead right underneath your tonneau cover to just prevent water from coming in. This is just a demonstration, but you definitely wanna add this in for a permanent install. You just clean that space up using rubbing alcohol, place it down, make as straight as you can, and you just wanna make sure that you trim it the size and you're good to go. But bypassing that, you're gonna have three of these clamps. These guys are gonna go onto your track and then your track is what holds your cover into place. You're gonna use your included Allen key to make sure you have enough gap so you can install it on your rail. And essentially this portion here is gonna go down the rail of the tonneau cover. And this portion is gonna go underneath the lip of your bed rail here. So that's gonna just snap in there. Then you're gonna fasten this guy down and it's secured by this set bolt that's gonna go underneath. So this guy just threads up, and it'll put pressure on the bottom of this plate to keep everything right where it should be. So I'm just gonna pre-thread all three of these guys and it will slide it onto the track. Now this setup does not really require two people, but if you have another set of hands, that'll make it go a lot quicker. Also if you're gonna go solo, let me show you a little trick. You can just actually get one of your clamps in place underneath the bed rail, and just fastener down a little and that'll hold it into place. I think I opened these guys up. Well, maybe up to slide 'em all in. But as long as you have one holding it, it'll hold it into place until you get to the inside. It just makes it a lot easier for you to see the process when I put it together like this. Now that I have my rail on the track, we're just gonna fasten this guy down. And now you can, hands-free, make your adjustments as needed by fastening both of these guys down. You wanna make sure with your install that the edge of your rail is above the top rail. So it's just like that, you have that entire surface all lined up. Also wanna make sure your rail is aligned right here at your tailgate where it's not gonna be any interference with the tailgate closing in. I just noticed that my clamp has some interference with the clip for the top of our bed rail here. So you just wanna be cautious to make sure that you're aligning it in a way where you can fasten it down where it's not being obstructed. Fortunately, you have plenty of spacing where you can just slide it and make those adjustments. You're gonna have two of these hardware assemblies here. This is what actually secures the tonneau cover to the top of the rails. What we're gonna do, we're just gonna unfasten all of the hardware, just disassemble it. You're gonna have this stopper, the knob, a lock washer, and a flat washer. It's a lot of thread as you see. And now, we're gonna take this bolt head first and put it into this track. So you're just gonna kind of work it in and have it stick out the bottom. We're gonna do the same on both sides. Now we're gonna align our hardware with the hole right here on our track. You can see once you have it in place, it just kind of falls right into position. Now we're going underneath and we're gonna fasten our hardware assembly. A tip that I ran into while putting this together, you wanna make sure your LEER logo's over on your driver's side, and that way you know your cover is in the correct orientation. So now we have that set up. We're gonna undo our second strap. You're just gonna have two of these clamp-style straps and we're gonna roll this guy out. Now I already tested once and I know everything fits as it should. However, with tonneau covers, you have to go back and make adjustments. So don't be discouraged if it doesn't correctly go the way you need it to right off the box. I mean right off the bat. (tonneau thuds) And you can see, this guy snaps right into place. Trunk covers without any issue. And I found that sometimes you may wanna go back if you have extra of that gasket and you might wanna just seal it in if you need it. But here, it looks pretty tight on this F-150. So again, this is Ed, etrailer.com, taking a look at the LEER soft roll-up tonneau cover for your 2024 Ford F-150.
So far so good
Received in good condition and installed easily.
Perfect fit. Performed as expected.
Love it
Quick delivery, fair price, great quality, and easy installation!
I put this on my Chevy 2500 about a year ago and it has performed great. It is pretty water-tight except during torrential wind / rain storms and only leaks a little. It has survived a hellacious hail storm this last spring without any damage. The truck had $11K damage.
Still fits great....easy to use....great quality
Thank you...nice to see you care enough to check on me and my thoughts on the product.
Very please, with the fast delivery and the tracking was updated frequently l. The items I bought fit perfectly and are what I was looking at
I would have given better ratings if the written instructions were better. The online video from your site saved the day. Also, lock washers and washers were loose in the box. Not good packaging from the manufacturer.
Love the cover, the look and the overall installation. I did find the self adhesive on the weather-strip for the front to be weak. I have a dura-liner bed liner. I cleaned the area and even wiped with alcohol, but still feel the adhesive should have held tighter.
Very nice , works well
So far it is working like a charm. It was easy to install and looks and works great.
