Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Aries RidgeStep line of running boards for your truck, van, or SUV. Now, when choosing which one's right for you, you wanna make sure to use our fit guide to get the proper fit for your vehicle. Now, these running boards are gonna be a bunch of different varieties that custom fit to your vehicle. And the reason being is it's gonna match the length as well as the custom brackets, to be able to bolt up nice and easily to your application. Now, the entire line of RidgeSteps are gonna share similar capabilities and also similar specs, meaning that they're gonna be 6 1/2 inches wide. So it's gonna give you ample room to step on here to get into the vehicle.
They're also gonna have these nice raised ridges here for that traction and also be able to drain with these holes here. That way there's not any mud or water built up on here when you step on there. Now you're also gonna have this nice wrinkle black powder coat finish, which looks really nice. And also it's gonna prevent scratches from really showing as much because it's gonna hide it. Sometimes with that gloss finish on some of the other powder coat finishes a little nick will really show up.
This one actually gives you added texture and it's gonna hide that a little bit better. Now these are steel construction so they're very heavy duty. In fact, they feel super secure. Other running boards that I've dealt with before don't exactly have the best feel to 'em. These ones, as I step on it, I'm jumping up and down and the whole truck is moving along with it, but I don't feel any flex coming from the running board itself.
So it gives you a sense of security as you step on here to hop in your vehicle. Now, the raised steps also give you extreme traction. So I'm really scraping my foot along here and it's holding onto my shoe, which is really nice for not only just daily use but also during inclement weather when you may have snow, mud, rain on your shoes it's not gonna make a difference because these are really going to bite into your shoe giving you solid traction as you hop up. Now, the textured black powder coat finish serves multiple purposes. And the first one right out the gate is I think it looks great.
You also get a little bit of added traction here just as it creates a rough surface here for your shoe to bite onto, but also it's gonna serve as protector at long term from the weather. So if you're in a snowy conditions and they salt the roads, even though this sees a lot of road grime it's not gonna break down with rust and corrosion because it's protected with that powder coat finish. Now being custom fit means it's going to cater to your vehicle. So as we have a four-door truck here, you can see that the rear passengers are gonna easily be able to use the step to hop in as well as the front. But if you pick these up for even the transit van or something along those lines, it's gonna cover any of the openings. So even your sliding doors, it's gonna match that up. So that's the point of being custom fit is it's gonna be perfectly catered to whatever vehicle you may have. Now on our Sierra here today, I can see why the customer might have added these on. Trucks are slowly becoming more family vehicles. As you can use it as a truck, but having four doors you can actually load the whole family up. Well, my two little kids can't really hop up in the back because the factory ground clearance on this is actually pretty good, which is great for a truck and for adults. But for kids to hop up here, it kind of can be a test. So this step here's gonna allow them to be able to get in the truck nice and easy. And it's actually rated for 500 pounds, so even if there's another version of me standing on the front, it's still gonna be within the weight spec. Now when you do choose your custom fit kit for your vehicle it's gonna come with both sides and they may be different sizes depending on the vehicle, like a van, you're gonna have that long slider but you do have both sides that come with the kit. Now, something else that I really like is the fact the installation's extremely easy. This one actually bolted into some factory weld nuts and it's really easy to do. And it's secure because it's using factory mounts. Another great part is it does have some adjustability. You're able to slide these forward or back, in and out, so you can really cater to exactly where you want it and how you want it to look on your vehicle. I ordered the Aries Ridge Step Running Boards on Wednesday from the etrailer website. They were delivered on Friday afternoon and it took me about an hour to install them. Instructions were easy to follow and the accompanying pictures were actually relevant to installation. They look great on my Silverado and my wife can get into the truck much easier.

Only 2 days or so , as free shipping usually is slow and 5 days or more .
Running board box and bracket box had multiple puncture and tears , running board box torn open apart at one end and pulled open at other end , and bracket box had 3 or four punctures and tears .
When I opened boxes today , I didn't see any obvious damage to running boards , and checked bracket box to make sure all 6 brackets and hardware bag was not torn open .
But I haven't taken brackets out of plastic yet to look for any damage .
I would say that shipping needs some improvement, not sure if additional packing can prevent the boxes being damaged , maybe ends of long running boards box can be taped to prevent ends from being ripped open .
They are heavy and getting handled roughly at the warehouse and by UPS or FedEx delivery drivers will cause this damage to cardboard boxes .
I'm not sure etraler has much control over this shipping process .

I am very satisfied with my first experience buying from trailer .

Easy to install and they look great!
Installation went smoothly with process pretty straight forward. Looks good and feels sturdy. Time will tell on how well they hold up to Colorado weather.
Product arrived as promised with 2 packages, 1 for the running boards, and 1 for the brackets. Arrived in perfect condition and was built a lot heavier than I expected. After unpacking and reading the great instructions, it took about 15 minutes to install each side. I would recommend these for anyone looking for a nice wide full-length step to get into your truck.
Very nice with lots of room to step with boots on. And made a big difference keeping road debris from hitting rocker panels. Top notch fit, form and function.

The running boards are awesome! They were easy to install, my father in law helped me put them on. They look great.
I put them on my wife's truck, she loves them, "but" there's always that right, lol.
Her only complaint is the bolts, she wished they were black also, but yes she does love them and they look great.
Really happy with these steps. They are very easy to mount even for someone like me who always ends up working on things after the sun goes down. They have very good grip in any weather conditions I’ve been in but are still usable in bare feet as well. My only complaint is there is no adjustment to the height and on my particular truck there is a larger gap between the kick plate and cab than I would have in an ideal world. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a solid side step that has a different look than the normal tube style on most trucks.

I really like these running boards. Very simple install. UPS delivered at around 5:50 and I completed install at 6:45. Would recommend running boards for a single cab F350 !
Super easy to install, No drilling, only took about 2 hours. Highly recommend if you don't want to drill your pinch weld
Very stout! Rear mount is a little fiddly but truly no issue. 35 minute install solo.
After less than 6 months, all bolts loosened and/or fell off and needed to be replaced with lock nuts/bolts. This should be a stock item. All but 2 had to be replaced.
Got the running boards on look great and they are solid as hell, jump on them and no flex what so ever. Installed on 2019 Ford F-250 Crew Cab.
Everything fit great and installation was easy. I'm 67 and the hardest part was getting up and down from the garage floor. Standing on the back end to the running board to reach into the box of my pickup was a bit questionable. It didn't feel like it was going to hold my weight. The rest of the running board between supports was adequate but could be more solid. As long as you're standing between the supports you shouldn't have an issue.
Nice running boards and pretty straight forward installing. The issue I have with them is they were advertised a no drill custom mounting kit when in fact 12 3/8” holes were required to be drilled for the install. I purchased these believing I would not be drilling holes laying on my back under my van, this was not the case even though they were advertised no drill installation.
Okay, the quality is perfect, the ease of installation was so easy. I watched their install video and went to work, took me a couple of hours but the running boards have been so worth it.
These arrived about an hour before sundown and it was pretty easy to get them on while I had light. Took me a second to realize there was different steps in the directions for two different models but once I pulled my head out it was simple and everything fit perfectly on my Ford F-250. They don't bow or bend and I'm 220 lbs. The finish and texture are perfect for the job they will be doing. There are fancier running boards but these are perfect if your truck is a work truck like mine. Highly recommend.

The boards are excellent, but it didn't fit the vehicle as described. Had to make several modifications to the brackets in order to install. Suggested installation time is 2+ hours but more like 6+ due to modifications. Best installed on a lift.
Only one small issue the package was Missing several lock washer and flat washer that attached the steps to the bracket not a real big issue was able to find some in my scrounge bag.
