Today we're going to be taking a look at part #C83770. This is the CURT heavy-duty D-ring tie down anchor. It's connecting a stable tie-down port where trailer or truck bed . making it great when to comes to providing a attachment point for securing ropes, straps or bungees. The mounting bracket is included. This is a wall-bound installation. Everything that you see here is made from a forged steel construction with a nice raw-steel finish.
The maximum load of brake-strength for this unit is going to be 46,760 pounds. When it comes to the dimensions of just the ring, measuring outer edge to outer edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about 5 inches. And then measuring this direction, outer edge to outer edge is also about 5 inches. The thickness of the ring is going to measure 1 inch thick. When it comes to the bracket dimensions, measuring this direction, outer edge to outer edge, it's going to give us a measurement of about 2 and 1/4 of an inch. This direction, outer edge to outer edge, is about 2 and 1/8 of an inch.
And measure it from the bottom to the top, that's going to measure about 1 and 3/4 of an inch. When it comes to the opening of the D-ring, inside edge to inside edge, going in this direction is about 2 and 7/8 of an inch. Then with the bracket on there, measuring from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the ring, that measurement's going to be about 2 and 5/16 of an inch. This is your welding piece, so once this is welded on, you can see that it will allow the D-ring to rotate to either side. That way, when it's not being used, it can lay flat to free up some space. If you're hauling other gear, you don't have to worry about this getting in the way. That's going to do it for today's review of part #C83770. This is the CURT heavy-duty D-ring tie down anchor.
