Features to know about

Leave the Pavement Behind: Deep Off-Road Tread

When your campsite is down a gravel road or the route gets muddy, this tire is made to keep going. It's deep off-road tread digs into mud, sand, gravel, and other loose terrain to give your camper better traction when the pavement ends.

Get to the Trail Without Slowing Down: 75-Mph Radial Tire

An off-road tire still has to handle the highway miles between home and camp. The ST235/75R15 radial has an L speed rating up to 75 mph, so you can tow at normal highway speeds before turning onto the back roads that brought you out there in the first place.

Keep Moving When the Weather Changes: Deep Channels and Tread Blocks

Wet pavement, snow, and loose ground can make a camping trip more interesting than planned. Deep channels help move water away from the tread, while the open tread pattern provides the biting edges you need for traction across changing road and trail conditions.

Carry a Loaded Camper Off the Beaten Path: Load Range D

Camping off-grid usually means bringing plenty of gear along. This 8-ply rated Load Range D tire carries up to 2,910 lbs at 65 psi, giving you the capacity needed for a loaded camper while maintaining the stability of radial construction.

Keep the Original Look of Your RV: Forest River OEM Matte Black Cobra Wheel

When you're replacing a tire and wheel on your camper, you want the new one to look like it belongs there. This Cobra aluminum wheel is used by Forest River as original equipment. Its fully painted matte black finish helps maintain that original RV look, while rustproof aluminum and an automotive-grade clear coat help protect it from moisture, road grime, scuffs, and scratches.

Determining Bolt Pattern

Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are (also called bolt holes)
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Bolt Pattern - Even
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Bolt Pattern - Odd

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Video Transcript for Review of Westlake Trailer Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - WST83FR

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Westlake Off-Road Trailer Tire with a Cobra Aluminum Wheel. So folks, if your camper spends all this time going from highways to paved campgrounds, a standard trailer tire may be all that you need, but if those trips regularly take you down gravel roads, muddy campsites, or maybe further off the pavement, this setup gives you a tire design with that type of terrain in mind. So obviously, the big difference here is the tread, right So you got these deep channels, large open tread blocks. They're gonna give that tire more biting edges. That's gonna give you traction through gravel, mud, snow, sand, and other loose surfaces.

And these deep channels also move water away from the tread when you're towing in those wet conditions. Now, obviously, you still have to get back on the road. So this is a radial tire. Has a great speed rating, L, so that's rated up to 75 miles per hour. And as we all know, we're not speeding out there, right We're following the rules of the road.

So keep in mind, remember always that heat is the number-one cause of tire failures. So those speed ratings are very crucial. So make sure you're not going over that 75 miles per hour. You have a six-lug bolt pattern here with a 5 1/2-inch or a 6-lug 5 1/2-inch bolt pattern. The pilot hole diameter is 4.25, or 4 1/4, inches wide, so, that way, your center cap can fit back in here with ease.

Now, you can see from the wheel here, this does come pre-mounted on that matte black Cobra aluminum wheel, so it's lightweight. And the Cobra design is used by a lot of the Forest Rivers. It's their OE go-to. So if you're replacing this on a compatible camper, you can maintain that factory appearance with that same Cobra wheel look. And again, aluminum wheel, so it's naturally rustproof.

And it's an automotive-grade clear coat on top of that black coating, so you have two layers of protection to help protect that matte black finish from scuffs, road grime, those kind of things. So again, folks, if you're looking for something that can do on-road and off-road, this Westlake will be a great option for you. I'm Steven with etrailer. As always, thanks for watching, and stay safe while you're towing.
