When you’re running heavy tandem axles, smooth load transfer between them matters. This kit’s 18-3/8" long straight equalizers keep both axles working together so bumps and dips don’t throw your trailer off balance. The equalizers are designed for use with 10,000-lb, general-duty Dexter axles, giving you the strength and geometry needed for reliable suspension performance over the long haul.
Big trailers need solid connections that don’t flex or wear out early. This kit includes 4-1/2" tall center hangers with 1" bolt holes, plus matching 1" and 3/4" diameter bolts and locknuts for both equalizer and spring mounts. The heavy-duty hardware keeps your suspension secure and properly aligned, reducing unwanted movement and maintaining even tire contact under load.
There’s no guesswork in what you need to hang your slipper springs from the trailer frame. The kit includes everything required for mounting the equalizers—hangers, bolts, and locknuts—so you can get your suspension together without searching for extra parts. Pair it with HAP-158-00 to complete the full tandem-axle setup for a consistent installation front to back.
Correct axle spacing is key to smooth tracking and even weight distribution. These equalizers are engineered to allow 42-1/4" between axles, keeping your trailer geometry right where it should be. That spacing helps improve ride quality, reduces tire scrub, and keeps braking more predictable on rough or uneven roads.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Dexter Tandem Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit. This kit includes the equalizers, the bolts, and the center hangers for attaching four two and a half inch slipper leaf springs to your trailer frame with tandem 10,000 pound general duty Dexter axles. Now you can use this with a kit that you see there on your screen, which includes the front and rear hangers and the mounting hardware necessary for a complete tandem axle kit. If you are in need of that kit that you see there on your screen, as you can see, I do have our item number there for you. You can just take that item number and put it in the search field of our website and it will take you to that kit if you are in need of it.
Now back to our kit here that's on my table. This includes everything that you see here. First, you're going to get two of these four and a half inch tall center hangers with one inch bolt holes. And the way that we measure center hangars, as you probably know, is you measure from the center of the bolt hole to the top of the hangar and that's where we get our four and a half inches in height. And then we're gonna get two 18 and three eights inch long straight equalizers that are going to allow for 42 and a quarter inches between your axles.
And each equalizer has a one inch in diameter center hole for mounting to the hangar, and a three quarter of an inch in diameter side hole for attaching to the spring. Let me go ahead and pull out my tape measure here real quick and just confirm the length with you on this straight equalizer. So as you can see, we're sitting at 18 and three eight inches long. And then next you're going to get two four and a half inch long by three quarters of an inch in diameter spring eye bolts with two three quarter of an inch in diameter lock nuts, and then two five and a quarter inch long by one inch in diameter equalizer bolts with two one inch in diameter lock nuts. I do wanna point out that this does not include components for mounting your axle to your springs.
