Matching Your Existing Tubing

Trim in Hand

If you're repairing a frame or building a new rack or support, matching the right size and thickness is important. This rectangular tubing is not trailer-specific. To get the right fit, you'll need to match it to your existing tubing by measurement. If you're replacing a section, measure your current tubing or mounting area and compare:

  • Overall length (this tubing is 93-1/2")
  • Outer dimensions (this tubing is 2" x 1")
  • Connection method — how the tubing is mounted or joined to your existing setup

The size and wall thickness both affect how the tubing fits and how it handles load. Even small differences can prevent it from matching your existing structure or handling load as intended. If you're not sure, take a few measurements and photos of your current setup and reach out to etrailer support for help comparing options.

Video Transcript for Review of P And F Products Trailer Trim - Aluminum Tube Trim Trailer - PF43FR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this P&F Products aluminum tube trim for your trailer. Now, if you're building a custom project and you need a solid but lightweight structural piece, this aluminum tubing is gonna be a great option for you to consider. This is gonna be strong enough to support things like ladder racks, shelving and trailer door frames, or any kind of custom support structure. And because this is made of aluminum, this is not going to add a whole lot of extra weight to your build.

Now, as you can see, I barely have it into frame. This is a long piece that I have here. So let me show you, or try to at least tell you, how long this piece is. So looking at it end to end, I got 93 inches. I know that's probably difficult for you to see there.

My studio isn't much wider than that, so that's why I kind of have this at an angle here. So 93 inches. And then let me see if I can zoom in here a little bit closer. The overall, if you wanna call it height, is right at two inches. And then flipping this that way, looks like the depth or width is about one inch.

So hopefully that's helpful for you. And then I'm just going to try to bring this in slightly into frame just so you can see the end there. So this is gonna be very versatile. It's gonna give you a sturdy profile for a variety of fabrication jobs. And one of the biggest advantages is how easy this is going to be to work with.

The smooth tube is going to cut and drill evenly, so you're gonna be able to shape it however your project requires. And so this is going to give your final build a professional look whether you're using it for a business equipment or personal DIY set up. So that's about it. If you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we carry here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out to us 'cause ultimately we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
