Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Mini LED Side Marker Boat Trailer Light

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this recessed mount mini red LED side marker boat trailer light. This waterproof mini LED red light can function as a rear side marker or clearance light for your trailer when properly mounted. And as you can see, I already have this hooked up to my power supply. And this single premium LED is going to be energy efficient for you, long-lasting and vibration resistant.

This is rated for up to 100,000 hours of operation. So you see how bright it is with my studio lights on. Let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off just to give you a better demonstration of its brightness. I'm gonna shine it here on my tabletop. And then let me zoom out and shine this on the wall behind me, again, just to kind of give you an idea.

Probably can't see the light too well through the camera on the back of my wall there. But you can get an idea of what this is going to look like somewhat at a distance in the dark. We're gonna zoom back in. This is a PC-rated light, which means it produces 90-degree angle of light to either side of its center line for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. The beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light as well as when you are standing on either side of the light.

So rather than buying side marker and clearance light separately, you can mount this single PC-rated light at a 45-degree angle on the rear corner of your trailer to act as both. This is a durable UV-resistant, clear lens over a red LED in a sealed, waterproof construction. The housing in the lens unit are waterproof. And so the the waterproof construction of this light is going to make it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a bow trailer. Also, a special urethane potting is used to encapsulate the circuit board, further ensuring protection from moisture and dust.

This has an IP rating of 68. So this is going to be a recessed-mount installation with the included grommet. It does require 3/4 of an inch in diameter cutout. Let me pull out my ruler here and just give you some basic measurements. The overall diameter, as you can see, we are sitting right at an inch. And then the thickness, we're sitting right at about 7/8 of an inch. So this is going to be compatible with your 12 volts DC system. It hardwires to your application with a 7 1/2" long pigtail. The input voltage is 9 volts to 14 volts. And it has a power draw of 0.06 to point- Let me try that again. A power draw of 0.06 to 0.08 amps. This does meet or exceed FMVSS 108 standards.
