This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable red powder coat primed paint that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish has a 500-hour salt spray rating, making the coupler perfect for marine use.

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we take a look at this Demco Easy Latch Flat Plate Mount trailer coupler for a 2 5/16" diameter ball. Has a 21,000 pound weight capacity, and it comes in this nice prime paint finish. Now, this is a heavy duty ball coupler. Just to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle.
Right here it provides the connection point for your 2 5/16" diameter hitch ball, so it's ideal for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. What's nice on this one, it uses that easy latch mechanism right here, which is a corrosion-proof composite latch handle. It ensures a nice, simple, secure hookup and disconnect. And, what's nice about it, is it's an easy latch, so it'll let you hook up, when the latch is in the closed position, like it is now. All you do is just have to drop the coupler over the hitch ball, and the latch will snap into the place.
I wanna demonstrate that. I happen to pull a 2 5/16" diameter hitch ball, right there, so you can see putting it over there, drop it into place. You notice the latch automatically connects, and you're hooked up all ready to go. And then, when you're ready to disconnect, just lift up on the latch, and it comes right off. So, pretty simple to attach.
Just set it on the ball and push it down, and it connects just like that. Also, it's nice if you notice, a lot of your couplers will have the trigger latch, where they sit up real tall, they could get damaged. This one is a nice sleek, low profile design, so it'll allow any type of hazard that might slip over the top of it, from damaging the latch components. They'll just slide right over. Now, also, unlike most couplers that have the pinhole on that tall handle latch, this easy latch coupler will feature its 5/16" diameter hole on this side, and it goes through all the way to the other side.
And, that's for the coupler lock. You can put a coupler lock through there. This will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft. Now, the coupler locks, we do sell separately on our website. The diameter we mentioned of the pinhole is 5/16ths of an inch, and you just wanna make sure to get a lock that has a minimum span of three inches. Now, this is a nice sturdy steel construction. You can see it does have a nice powder coat prime paint finish on it to give you excellent corrosion resistant. Meets a 500 hour salt spray rating. So, it is great for marine applications. If you notice the flat plate mount design, it is a bolt on installation. This plate is six inches by six inches, and it'll bolt directly to the trailer, using the 3/4" grade five hardware. Now, the mounting hardware is not included. You would have to supply that. We mentioned the bolt hole diameter, you can see, is 3/4", and the bolt pattern, if we measure the distance center to center, horizontally is 4 1/2" and vertically is 4 1/2". Again, the ball size this will fit onto is a 2 5/16" diameter ball, and the weight capacity again is 21,000 pounds.
