When you need to grab gear fast or load up larger cargo, the retractable design of the Switchblade makes it easy. Just squeeze the pinch grips under the rear plate and the tension spring automatically rolls the cover into the canister. It retracts smoothly and stays out of the way so your rear window and full bed space remain clear. When it’s time to close up, the built-in pull strap glides the cover back into place and secures at the tailgate.
You don’t need a shop or special tools to get this cover mounted. The canister bolts to the bulkhead, the rails clamp inside the bed with no drilling, and the drain tubes route through factory holes. Once it’s in place, you can lift the whole thing off again in about ten minutes whenever you want full use of the bed. Even with its sturdy build, it’s light enough to handle solo.
The deck blends a vinyl top layer with rigid aluminum panels, giving it the look of a soft cover and the toughness of a hard one. The black ArmorTek surface is weather-resistant and sits nearly flush against the rails for a low-profile finish that reduces drag and looks sharp. The panels hold their shape under snow and resist dents and warping.
Rain, snow, and road spray stay out thanks to the foam seal under the rails and a large rear seal that closes the gap at the tailgate. Water that lands on the cover channels through the rails into the canister, then exits through drain tubes routed out the bed floor. That keeps the bed drier and prevents freezing inside the tracks.
When the tailgate is locked, your gear is locked too. The pinch grips and pull strap sit underneath the rear plate, making them inaccessible when the cover’s closed. The heavy-gauge aluminum panels are far tougher to pry open or cut through than soft covers, so your tools and equipment stay protected wherever you park.

Only negative would be the back brackets were very difficult to slide over the lip to get them in position. It required a bit of finesse with a hammer. Otherwise all good instructions, video helped greatly from the etrailer team.
Just installed this afternoon, so not a lot of experience yet. I installed by myself in about 1 1/2 hours. The instructions were clear and brief. I had a little trouble getting the front clamps in place, but that was due to the thickness of a brand new spray-in bed liner, it was pretty thick. Once everything was in and adjusted the cover works good and looks like it will keep most of the weather out.
Extremely easy to install. Although it says 1 person installation, having two makes it just quicker. Box arrived open (main cardboard flap) but all items were accounted for. Just recommend banding straps prior to shipping. Feels very sturdy and well secured to the bed with no holes. Drain plugs fit as OEM and were simple to install as part of the process. The cover looks great and DOES work on a 2020 Ram 3500 8'bed. It was easy to install. It was missing 2 hex bolts to connect the rails to the canister but a few dollars at the local hardware store fixed that. The only concern I have is the canister cover is a little warped, either from shipping or manufacturing, allowing the cover to retract in the canister without touching the brush on the canister cover. This could allow dirt and dust into the canister later as well. All in all great looking cover that does what its intended to do.

The products instructions sucked & it was missing 1 part. It took much longer than 10 minutes to install as indicated. Plus I was expecting to see a video of installation on your website, but there wasn't any.
Tonneau cover was delivered as requested and the product was installed in less than 1/2 hour. Prompt delivery with zero problems,I would highly recommend this product.
I know that it is not your problem but the installation instructions need to be better I learned more from a video on the cover than what the instructions told me .Maybe Pace Edwards should include a link on their instruction page

Finally got time to install my bed cover. Love it, much better than the old back flip that I had on my old truck.
Abigail helped me find the correct tonneau cover that fits an 8 ft. Truck bed. Order came pretty quickly and my wife and I installed it in about 1 1/2 hours. The materials seem to be top notch and look amazing on my truck. Love the low profile.The cover slides back and forth with ease. Great fit! Great Product. Do watch the video's on the installation. Great service and fine product! Order was delivered in two packages and delivered on time, and all the parts were included (nothing left out as sometimes happens). Tonneau cover was easy to install both by following included directions or by using the demo video on the website. Item fit my 2026 RAM3500 DRW MEGA CAB like OEM and worked properly upon installation.
I have only one slight concern as you will see in provided pictures. To make the cover fully "water tight", you will need to add some type of seal or trim where the bed meets the bed rails, as the provided seal does not extend over this small, open area at the joint.
Looks good. Easy install. Can be done by one person. Opens and closes smoothly.
It keeps items in the bedroom covered but NOT DRY . It is NOT worth the $1200 . Seriously thinking about going back to my tri fold cover
Thank you eTrailer for your install videos. They are so much better to follow than the instructions that come with the cover. It took me about an hour to install if not a bit longer due to the rain. I installed on my own, which the install woukd be faster if you have someone helping you. The only thing I had an issue with was the weather strip but it was also due to the surface being wet and hard to dry.
It is installed and was fairly straight forward. Despite others indicating there were no instructions, mine included somewhat clear instructions (could be better). If I had understood that staples through vinyl into aluminum was the core of the design - or a plastic bin was the container, I would certainly have kept looking for something with a more robust design. I expect a couple/three years before replacing, but it solves my immediate need. In this case, ability to see the gooseneck ball from the center high-mount camera that was blocked with the tri-fold cover. Like others have shared, don't expect a dry bed! The omission of a seal from the rear of the rails to the tailgate is confusing - as is the lack of seal length on the head rail to from a seal up front. I'll figure something out for both eventually, but a little underwhelming for the would-be low cost to address in design.
I'm very satisfied with the product. I previously had a flip top style tonneau cover on an older truck which blocked my rearview mirror when fully up. Not a problem with this unit. The majority of the full length bed is still usable. The unit only hangs down about 8 to 10 inches or so into the bed. I had no problem installing it on my own. The fit was perfect. Overall a good experience. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was a third brace in the middle for the side panels, just to provide extra support in case someone sits down on the bed rail and puts more wait on the side panel than the bed. That said, it does feel pretty solid and looks great.
Overall for the price I’m not satisfied. I followed the manufacturers instructions and it worked smoothly for about a month and then the tracks started getting rougher and rougher. It will open about half way and then you need to get in and push it from side to side for it to fully retract. I also had the cover fall down off the track in the center and it was a huge pain to get it back in the track by myself with cargo inside the bed. You are better off spending an extra $100-200 and going with the “real truck” roll up bed cover.

Very easy one man install. Looks amazing. very flush with bed rails. will slide over 5th Wheel hitch. gives enough room under Canister to put 36 gallon fuel tank.
The bed cover is amazing! I have a low bed rack that doesn’t work with a folding cover, so this retractable cover was the perfect choice. Now I can leave the rack in place and access the bed. Installation was pretty easy, a little confusing just from the directions, but it probably would have been easier if I watched a video. The clamps weren’t intuitive, but made sense once they were in and feel super secure. I’ve only had it in for a few days, but just took the truck camping for a long weekend and used the cover a bunch. I can’t speak to the longevity yet, but so far, so good!
Love the sleekness of the cover. I removed a bak revolver and replaced it with this one. Much easier to hook up the 5th wheel without the giant roll of cover behind the cab. Super easy to open and close. The only issue I had was the front mounting hardware did not fit for some reason. They would not loop together due to the Engel of the truck bed. Not a big deal as I made it work just fine.pretty easy install as I did the entire thing alone as a 58 year old man with a wrecked back!
The cover came very quickly and I got installed the next day. Works great and hope to have many good years use out of it.
I installed this on my 2017 RAM without any issues. The instructions manual is a little difficult to follow but I found an installation video specifically for my truck and it made the whole process easy. I added the extra shim per the video and it works smoothly. I took my time and it was maybe an hour to install. I'm sure I could remove it in 10 minutes or less.
etrailer had my cover here in about a week. The website made it easy to find the one that fits my vehicle and with the [sale] price I was able to get the retractable instead of the roll up I had been looking at.

I still like this cover. It is super easy to use and I like that it locks. I especially like that you close it before the tailgate. Im not sure the gasket under the endcaps will last long as it is cracking.
