Features to know about

Digging Through Deep Snow and Ice: Grooved Square Links Bite Hard

When the snow gets deep or the ice starts to glaze over the road, these pewag chains really shine. The grooved square links grab into packed snow and ice better than traditional square or round links, giving you steady forward traction right when you need it most. The ladder pattern keeps your tires pulling evenly across slick surfaces whether you’re on a mountain road or a muddy shoulder.

Built for the Long Haul: Reversible Design Extends Chain Life

You don’t have to worry about burning through a set of chains too fast. Each link is reversible, so once one side starts showing wear, you can flip them over and keep using them. That simple design choice makes these chains last longer than typical sets, giving you solid value season after season.

Strong Enough for Harsh Conditions: Nickel Manganese Alloy Steel Construction

These chains are made from nickel manganese alloy steel that’s case hardened for strength and durability. That means they hold up to tough driving and resist corrosion better than standard carbon steel. The tough outer layer protects from wear and rust while the inner core stays flexible under stress. It’s the kind of build that stands up to repeated use in real winter conditions.

No Loose Parts to Worry About: Manual Tensioning Keeps It Simple

With these chains, there are no cams or levers to come undone when you’re reversing or crossing rough ground. You tighten them manually for a snug fit, and that’s it—nothing to loosen up later. If you want an even tighter fit, you can add rubber adjusters (sold separately).

Lay pewag snow chains flat on the ground to remove tangles before installation

Drape pewag tire chains over the tire with prongs facing outward before adjustment

Connect pewag tire chains behind the tire by hooking and tightening the ends

Install rubber adjusters on pewag tire chains for a snug fit and protection from scratches

Ready for Serious Winter Travel: Fits 14"–18" Tires, 5.6 mm Links

Sized to fit a wide range of tires, this pair of chains gives you reliable coverage for standard winter setups. The 5.6 mm (0.220") thick links add plenty of bite and durability. Whether you’re heading into deep snow or dealing with icy ruts, these chains are built to keep you moving confidently.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

the chains came the other day but it has been so cold that I haven't tried them to make sure these do fit.going to be warmer this week so I will try them on.

by:

great product and a great web site they have what you need for towing and more

by:

Just received them and test fitted them on my Falken Wildpeak AT3W 275/65R18 backtires. It was a tight fit, but they made it, plus the tires are brand new. Havent used them yet, but they seem well made.

Awesome chains, made in the U.S.A. no cheap import/sub-par chinese garbage. No need to say more.. Buy American

by:

Have had these for less than a year and they're already cracked and rough-looking. Hoping this is just aesthetic but I'm afraid they're going to fail soon!

Just got chains, came when said they would. Put them on they fit fine and got good traction. First set of chains I have ordered for a pickup. They a little lighter weight than I expected. But other chains i have used have been on farm equipment and were made from heaver material. I wouldn't purchase anything lighter weight or cheaper than these unless your using them solely for on road use. On a 2018 Silverado 1500 18" wheels pickup the chains fit well, but you definitely need the chain tightening bunge or the chains do hit the fenders on the rear. Not the chains fault, just GM should have left more space between the rear wheels and the fenders.

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2015 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 Dually with 215/85R16 Tires
If you are going to use cable style tire chains on dually wheels then they will need to only go on the outer 2 tires on your 2015 Mercedes Sprinter 3500. The reason for this is because it would be nearly impossible to get cable style chains on the inner 2 tires. If it were me I would use regular chains and just on the outer tires. You don't have to spend a lot of money for regular chains; especially if you won't be using them often. Chains such as # PWH2219SC will fit the 215/85R16 tires...
