Heavy trailers, campers, or bed loads can make the rear end sag and throw off steering and braking. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity between the frame and suspension, keeping your truck level and stable even when fully loaded. With leveled ride height, your headlights stay properly aimed, tires wear evenly, and your handling stays consistent on the road.
Every job or trip loads the truck differently, so being able to dial in pressure is key. These air springs let you manually adjust from 5 psi to 100 psi to match what you’re hauling. Add air to lift heavy weight and maintain stability, or drop pressure for a smoother unloaded ride. Each side can be adjusted separately with individual inflation valves to balance off-center loads, keeping the truck level no matter how it’s packed.
A rough ride under load can be more than just uncomfortable—it can stress suspension parts. The Ride-Rite double-convoluted air springs cushion between the axle and frame to absorb shock and prevent bottoming out. Four layers of reinforced rubber and braided wire girdles combine for strength and flexibility that softens contact over bumps while maintaining full support. That means fewer jolts through the cab and more control when towing or hauling through uneven terrain.
Keeping air pressure where you want it doesn’t mean crawling under the truck. The included standard duty compressor kit lets you inflate or deflate the bags from inside the cab with an analog control switch. It delivers up to 100 psi of air pressure through a single path that levels both bags equally. With a 13-amp draw, 9 percent duty cycle, and flow rate of 0–30 psi in 17 seconds (0–60 psi in 42 seconds), it’s quick and dependable for real-world use without adding complexity.
Firestone designed these Ride-Rite springs for lasting performance under tough conditions. The rubber bellows are reinforced with multiple layers for durability, while corrosion-resistant metal end plates and a rolled crimp seal keep everything securely anchored. Every kit includes brackets, hardware, and components needed for installation, providing solid support that holds up through years of towing and hauling work.
