Hi everyone, it's Collin here at etrailer and today we have a 2019 Toyota 4Runner and we've been test fitting some roof racks on it and right now we have the Thule Wingbar EVO roof rack system installed. Now this is a roof rack that's going to mount to the raised side rails of your 4Runner and it's going to give you an option to get your favorite rooftop accessories loaded up, whether you got a kayak carrier, cargo box, maybe even a cargo basket. Now up top, we have our 53 inch long Wingbar EVO crossbars. These are in black but they're also available in silver, so if that will match your 4Runner better, just go ahead and check out the website. These are going to have a nice aerodynamic shape. It's going to help cut down on wind noise and drag, especially if you compare it to a standard square or round bar roof rack system. And we also have this nice rubber strip up top that's also cutting down on that wind noise and drag, but it's also a T slot and how we access that is flip open the cap right there and all we have to do is slide our T slot accessory between the two strips to the desired location on our roof rack, tighten it down and we're good to go.
There's no need to pull the rubber strip out anymore and cut it to length. You just slide it in and you're good to go. All right, here we have our Rapid Crossroads foot pack. These are going to connect your crossbars up top with your raised side rails. These are really easy to install.
It's a lot easier to get this installed on this roof than a naked roof where you have a padding clamp system that goes in your door jamb. This is going to be very easy to assemble and get installed. One of my favorite things about the crossbars . Or about the end caps I should say, is that the tools are actually included on the end cap. So we'll just pull off this end cap like so. Is a little bit tough at first.
We pull that off. We've got the tool to be able to loosen it up or tighten it down if we need to do so. The bolt is right here, once we tighten that up, our rubber coated steel strap that comes underneath our raised side rail, gets pulled down. You can see we've got a really nice secure fit right there and the rubber coating on that steel strap is going to help protect your raised side rail and your vehicle from any type of scratches or abrasions. Put the end cap back on and if we come over to the other side of the foot pack, you'll see we have these nice rubber layers underneath. So really all the way around where the Crossroads foot pack is making contact with your raised side rail, there's rubber all around it so you don't have to worry about it harming or scratching your raised side rail. Now I want to go over a few measurements for you guys.
First, from the top of our roof to the bottom of our crossbar, it's going to be three and a half inches. That should be more than enough space to get your clamp on accessories underneath of your crossbar without risking damaging your rooftop. Now this measurement's going to be a little different. We're going to go from the top of our side rail to the top of our crossbar, that's two and a half inches. That's something to keep in mind for any low clearance situations like maybe parking in your garage, if you have this added height to your raised side rail. Now that we've gone over some of those features, let's show you guys how easy it is to get this installed. Now like I said, assembly is very easy on this roof rack system. We don't have to deal with those pads and clamps like you would for a naked roof, so we'll just flip our crossbar over. We do need to take the end cap off. Just push down on that tab and cap comes right off. And then what we'll do is take our foot pack right here and the slot up top is going to slide into the channel on the bottom of our wingbar. You want to make sure that this open side is facing out away from the crossbar. Now at first it may be difficult to get in there, but what you can do to kind of loosen up this push down right here where a strap comes out. That'll loosen up the channel so that you can slide it in there just like that. You want to put the end cap back on. And from there we're ready to throw it on our roof.So we'll just set it in place on our raised side rails. Now because the strap is a little bit stiff, we're going to have to go over there and get that underneath the crossbar in a little bit. But over here we can just bring that rubber coated steel strap underneath like so. Just leave it there and we'll go to the same on the other side. Now from here what you want to do is measure your crossbar spread and make sure that's even on both sides. With this roof rack system, there's no set measurement, but you do want to make sure it's at least 24 inches. So what we'll do is measure from the front of our back crossbar to the front of our front crossbar.Again, as long as it's over 24 inches, you're good to go. I usually like to base it off of whatever accessory I might be using that day. If it's a bigger accessory, then you're probably going to want a bigger crossbar spread. And before you start tightening down, you do need to make sure that the arrow on the bottom of the foot right here is over the center of your raised side rail. Sometimes it helps out if you can just climb up on the doorframe on a tire tire like I just was. You can look directly above it and make sure that it's in the right spot.Right there, we're going to be all good to go. We'll take the steel strap, kind of put it in that little pocket where it's supposed to go. We're going to have to hold that there for a second while we tighten it down. Now you don't want to over tighten it, you just want to make it pretty snug. No need to try to cinch it down. Once you start feeling a good amount of tension on it, then you just go a couple more turns and you should be good. There we go. Few more. That'll be all right, right there. And then we just put the end cap on and then you want to make sure you tighten down the other side as well. Now when you're done installing it, I always recommend grabbing hold of both of your crossbars, give it a good shake. You can see the entire 4Runner is moving. Go up and down, back and forth. You can see everything is secure. So we're ready to load up our favorite rooftop accessories and then hit the road.Well, thank you all for watching and I hope this information helped you out. That's going to do it for our test fit of the Thule Wingbar EVO roof rack system on our 2019 Toyota 4Runner.

Just put this snowboard rack on my 2011 4runner mounted to Thule Aeroblade roof rack. Easy to install and use. Quality seems good. Like the look. No noise issues when driving. No complaints so far. Overall satisfied!
The AeroBlades and the mounting feet fit perfectly on my 2013 VW Jetta SportWagon. It took a quick 10 minutes to install and worked great.
Quality seems pretty good, but your instructions could use some work. As a mechanical engineer, I'm pretty good assembling mechanical things. However, I struggled with the assembly of these feet onto the bars. The photos aren't very clear in many cases. And speaking of assembly, I was wondering why you don't preassemble these things? At least the rubber strips and the Smart Slides. That would save users from several minutes of trying to interpret your instructions. And not providing locks is a pretty chintzy move. I suppose the way you sell these things come is you trying to save money without degrading the product, but what you're really doing is pissing off the buyer.
This fits our 2019 Toyota RAV4 Adventure no problems! The install video on etrailer was a huge help! Take your time with the bolts. They can be a bit tricky. We found some of the weld nuts had a little angle to them. Also, the right side is a very tight spot to work in. I used a slim ratchet to make life easier.
Roof rack assembly was received in record time, much faster than expected! Packaging was excellent and the items all assembled without a hitch on our Subaru Crosstrek. Only thing now is to mount our kayaks and hit the water.
These work really well with the Thule crossbars. I put them on my forerunner and have the Hullavater which works well for me.
Good quality and easy to set up on my 2016 jeep Cherokee! Happy with the new cross bar setup!
Very nice same key locks... I have used Yakima for years but went to Thule on my Jeep and am very pleased with the quality of Thule...
I have made several purchases from eTrailer over the past 10 years or so. We have never been disappointed! Every product has been high quality and eTrailer customer service has been exemplary. Our most recent purchase was a Thule crossbar system that allows us to put our Thule carrier on our new 2015 Ford Flex. I was a little concerned about the weight on the car but Thule came through with a product that outperforms with 5 stars. I did have to tighten the connectors slightly during our trip to Gatlinburg, but the trip was worry-free. The most stressful thing about the trip was being a passenger while my 16-yr-old son drove part of the way. No napping for me!
Went on my 2022 Ford explorer no problems.
Everyone I have had dealings with at etrailer have been extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about there products. Thanks to all the staff.
Excellent product, even better customer service. Will definitely do business with etrailer again
Great service from Ashley.
Easy to install, looks like OEM equipment. Works great with the Aero Bar. Etrailers did a great job of getting this part when hard to find with all the demand. They tracked the package to my door!
Very easy to setup and install. Very sturdy and the bars (also with Thule 450R CrossRoad Railing Roof Rack Foot Pack) handled my 14 foot 53 pound kayak with ease.
These feet connect well to the roof rails, but I didn't find them as easy to use as the older style I have on my other car. It took a lot of fiddling to get the rails and feet into the right position so the bars were centered and the end caps would snap on to the feet properly. I prefer the older ones where the base of the feet stay on the rail, and the top part of the feet stay attached to the crossbar, then you can pop the crossbars on and off very quickly. With these it will take monkeying around every time you want to take the rails off and put them back on.

Still three stars. Very fiddle-y to get right. The older clip in footer type is much easier to use.
Very easy to assemble and install. Seems very solid and quiet on my 14 Forester. Will be using Rhino-Rack Discovery bike carries in the rail and a yakima cargo box for ski's and misc gear.
Shipped by e-trailer within a couple of hours of my order being placed....hard to beat that.
We purchased a Thule roof storage system including the aero wing roof rack bars. It is a very good product. It holds a lot of gear and rides well on our 4runner. We have driven over 2000 miles with the Thule since we purchased it and haven't had a problem. My only knock on Thule's is that the keys take some finagling to slide into the locks. We also have a Thule trailer hitch cargo storage unit that purchased several years ago that are very pleased with except for the lock. I give it 4.5 stars.

We have logged about 15000 miles with the Thule roof storage rack and have not had any problems. It is a great product.
Impeccable customer service! First off, the etrailer.com site was super easy to use to find exactly which rack we needed for our make/model. Shipping was super quick. As soon as our Thule rack arrived, we put it on the car and zipped away on our first mountain bike ride. Rack is awesome -- exactly what we wanted and needed. It fits the car perfectly. We weren't sure if the Thule rack would accommodate two 29ers, but it does (with room to spare).
Purchased these foot packs and the Thule Wingbar Evo 135 crossbars. They're sturdy and very quiet. Didn't notice any noise or lag on the freeway. Very good website to confirm i had the right roof rack for my SUV. Videos were perfect and just what I needed to see. Thule racks were not in stock at the local dealers I contacted on Oahu, Hawaii so decided to pay for shipping. Total cost was similar to what I would of paid locally. George J informed me the same day I ordered on Sunday that the 4-pack of locks I also ordered was not in stock and did offer a 8 pack which I declined since I didn't need that many locks but it was nice that I was informed and wasn't going to be stuck waiting for the back order. I was able to get the locks locally and secured the racks to my SUV. Great customer support from George J, Teresa J to confirm my order change, and follow up from Carol C. You don't get customer service like this much anymore.
I recently bought a 2015 Subaru Forester and wanted to add a trailer hitch for my bike carrier and cross bars for the roof. I chose the Thule foot pack with Aero cross bars. The kit was easy to install and looks good on the car.
product and service was great. USPS however damaged the box but the product was undamaged
It is great. I love appearance of the Thule roof rack that I install today.
It was just what I needed to adapt to my larger rails.
I just installed these on my 2015 Odyssey's side rails.
Easy-peasy to install and appears to be quite solid.
Just not sure how tight I need to screw them.
It only took me 30 minutes to assemble and install the Crossroad feet with the 60" WingBar EVO. It will probably take me 10 minutes to move to another vehicle.
I chose the Crossroads for the ease of installation so I can switch them between our two Odysseys. When loosened for removal they also loosen the crossbar (60" WingBar EVO) which makes it so much easier to switch to a vehicle with a different width requirement.
Fits that requirement perfectly.
Will be loading the canoe on top this coming weekend. Looking forward to using these.

Tom:I too have a 2013 VW Jetta SportWagon, but with a retractable sunroof. Can you advise me what the clearance dimension is in inches from the top of the roof to the bottom of the cross bars? Thank you for your time on this request.Al in NC
