It has integrated channels in both the planks and the frame so you can mount different roof rack accessories, like awnings, light brackets, shovel holders, or spare tire carriers. The accessory bars (RR33AP – sold separately) even let you attach kayak carriers, cargo boxes, and other roof rack gear using the same platform.
Extra gear on the roof usually means wind noise and drag, but this rack was designed to keep both low. The aerodynamic shape and detachable wind fairing help air move smoothly over the surface, so you don’t have to deal with that constant whistling sound during highway drives. It sits low to the roofline too, which keeps your setup looking clean and efficient.
If your adventures take you beyond pavement, this platform can keep up. The aluminum frame is powder coated and reinforced with nylon connectors for durability and scuff-resistance. It’s tested for Australian conditions and designed specifically for off-road use, so it can handle the bumps and vibration that come with exploring rough terrain.
A solid setup starts with a secure base. This system includes 1 platform, 2 tracks, 4 legs, and 4 spacer blocks for proper leveling. The RT tracks provide adjustable mounting points for the legs, which bolt into the top channels. The included torque tool makes installation straightforward and maintenance hassle-free. Once it’s on, you’ve got a dependable foundation backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

The rack is outstanding! It's extremely well built and sturdy, and fit my Excursion perfectly. This roof rack is very well made and easy to put together. A few of my friends have purchased this same rack for their rigs. Very universal.
I did a lot of research before settling on this roof platform. I’m really happy with the build quality and once it’s all together it has a lot of strength and versatility. My ONLY complaint is that the “Quick Foot” mounting feet for the factory rail that was sent to me did not have matching key codes. The codes are clearly listed on the boxes and someone at etrailer.com didn’t bother to grab a matching set. Bummer.
After waiting for shipping and finally pulling it all out for the install I was too far into the project to ask for replacement feet. I just installed what was sent.
We bought the Pioneer Platform to go ontop of our Ford Excursion. I called to make sure that this was the model that came with the mounts that fit in the factory luggage rack rails. etrailer was super helpful over the phone. They had really good customer service. We put the Smittybilt Overlander XL rooftop tent on the platform. It all works great. I'd highly recommend etrailer to anyone everyone.
