Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a custom fit for the 2016 through 2018 Toyota RAV4. So if something happened to your passenger side mirror, it got knocked off, damaged, scraped up, whatever the case might be, this is going to give you a replacement for that that should just match up with that original mirror, and be pretty much indistinguishable from your original, so get you back out on the road and seeing again behind you.Now, this does have that convex lens, so it's slightly bowed out, that gives you the greater field of view for your passenger side, hence the little message at the bottom saying that, "Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear." It's just because it does distort it a little bit, but it gives you that wider field of view. It does also have our little spot mirror as well. So again, it's even more convex lens to increase that field of view a little bit more.We'll also have our connection for the remote capability, so we'll be able to plug that into our existing wiring housing and still be able to adjust our angle from inside the cab of our RAV4.

So it makes it pretty easy to just match right up with that original function. Now, if your RAV4 didn't already have a remote capability, this isn't going to upgrade you, it's just going to give you that same function that you already had. The one thing that it does not have is the turn signal built into the mirror. So if yours originally had that, this does not feature that, so you will have to find a different mirror if you want to have that original function.It mounts up in the same spot as your old mirror, it just mounts right in place. There are a couple little studs where it just pops into place, so it should be pretty easy to get that installed, no cutting or drilling, and once it's in place, it's again, pretty much indistinguishable from that original mirror.

If we flip it over, you can see this little crease here, that's going to be where the breakaway function happens. So if you're on a narrow street, you can turn that in towards the vehicle, and it's going to stay nice and compact towards your RAV4, snaps back out in place whenever you're ready to go back out on the road.
