Features to Know About

Space-Saving Pushback Recliner for Campers and RVs

This will be the chair you drop into while your coffee's brewing or the grill's heating up. You don't need to pull a handle or plug anything in - just lean back to stretch out, then sit forward when you're ready to move again. This chair works in smaller RVs and trailers where space matters, fitting neatly against the wall while still giving you room to recline. The support keeps you from sinking in too far, so when your coffee's ready and your grill's hot enough to throw the burgers on, it won't be a challenge to get up.

Leather-Like PolyHyde Upholstery

This chair has a soft, matte feel with a refined, leather-like finish. It's also low maintenance, so you don't have to worry about messing it up if you spill a drink, drop some food, or have a pet that enjoys naps there; it wipes clean with a soft cloth. The foam in the seat, back, arms, and footrest keeps its shape, too; you can sit for a bit, get up, and it doesn't leave a sunken spot behind. Plus, it fits through a 26" door and goes together in minutes so you can relax and enjoy your space, though your dog or cat may claim it before you do.

Video Transcript for Thomas Payne Pushback RV Recliner with FootrestFeature Review

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we'll be talking about the Thomas Payne pushback reclining chairs. Now these gonna be a great option if you're looking for something that's still gonna be fairly compact, but be very comfortable for your RV. So let's take a closer look at it. Now, here at etrailer we have a ton of different options when it comes to furniture and different colors to really mix and match for your RV. So the one I'm sitting in right now, this is gonna be the Dell Mead color.

That's just gonna be this lighter tan color. And then we're gonna have the McCoy, which is gonna be this deeper gray, but if you need a different style or size, you can find 'em here. And that is another thing to take into account is of the size of these, if this is gonna fit in your RV or not. Another thing you wanna take account of is if it's gonna fit through the doorway. With these, you are gonna have to have a minimum of 26 inches wide for your frame.

Now later I am gonna show you how to actually get this in here and install it, but before we do that, I wanna talk about how they feel and how they look and what it's gonna look like to actually live with. So speaking of that, if we wanna use the actual leg rest for this, all I have to do is push against here some and this automatically lifts the legs up. And something else I do notice with the lot of these, they are gonna have this plastic at the bottom. So if you still have your shoes on, it's not gonna dirty them up. So they last longer and it's easier just to maintain them.

And not only does the legs lift up, but it also leans back a decent amount. So to do that, all you have to is push against it. Sometimes I'll grab onto the arm rest, give me a little more leverage, and I'm almost completely laying horizontal. So this is pretty, pretty good. But we do want to take account for space 'cause that is leaned back so far.

Now if you just wanna lean back a little bit, you are gonna want a minimum of 12 inches. But if you want the full experience, what I would recommend doing is having at least 18 inches behind your chair. Now in a lot of RVs, you're not gonna have that much space to keep it here full time, but they are fairly light and easy to move around. So if I ever do wanna move it forward or push it back, it doesn't take much force to do that. I do wanna talk a little bit more about the colors that we do have today. So with the McCoy, it's gonna be this more smooth texture, it's gonna be more like vinyl. And then the one next to it, the dell mead, this is gonna be more of a fabric type texture. So my opinion this is gonna feel a little bit more cozy, a little more homey, but this one right here is gonna be a lot easier to maintain if you have any spills. And when it comes to comfort, I think they're both pretty comfortable. So you'll notice we do have a fair bit of cushion even in the armrest. So that's good to know when we're just leaning up against here. But especially when it comes to the back rest on either one. And the bottom here, you can see there is a fair bit here. And even when we unfold this all the way, your ankle will have that extra support here and these are gonna have some little feet on 'em on all four corners. I find this actually easier to help move it around and grab it and pick it up if you ever need to. Something to think about though is if you drop anything, it could fall underneath here. So definitely make sure when you're cleaning up check underneath. So overall, I think these are gonna be a great option if you're looking at those single recliner seats. 'cause what's really nice about these is that they are very comfortable and just really easy to use. Now if you're looking for something that's gonna have a little bit more mobility to it, I'd recommend the Thomas Payne gliders 'cause you can pivot those at 360 degrees and you can even rock, so they feel pretty comfortable. But the only downside to them when I compare it to this style is they're just not as stable. So if you want something that's gonna feel more grounded, I'd go with these. And when it comes to actually getting it in here, it doesn't really take any time. And since you are a little bit lighter, they're really easy to do it. But I do recommend doing that in pieces. We'll talk about that process here shortly. But if you do decide to go with these, let us know how it's working for you in either a review or a photo and send us how it looks in your space. Now with that said, let's get to the install. All right, so to actually it in there, it's gonna be pretty easy for the most part, especially for the top half. You can do that by yourself. The second half, I recommend grabbing a friend. It's not too heavy, but can be a little bit awkward getting through your door. So that's why I got Ethan with me today. So what we're gonna do now is just rotate this by 90 degrees in this orientation. I find it works best. And then we're just gonna take our time with it, making sure we're not gonna scratch it up when we're going through that doorway, 'cause it still will be a little bit tight. There we have it. So now what we have it inside, what I recommend doing is just placing in a spot that's gonna be easy, the access from the back. So we're going to grab the top half and it's gonna have these brackets here. And these brackets, what we're gonna do is line that up with this section right here. There's gonna be one on either side. So I'll start doing that now. I'm gonna try to hold it up flat, so it's easier for you to see. And sometimes this is really easy to line up like I did now. Sometimes these brackets might be a tad bit wide, so just line it up with one and push it over until it lines up with the second one. And once it is, we'll push down on there. You're eventually gonna hear a click on either side, just like that. And then we can lower that flap down and secure it in place with the hook and loop on the bottom. But once you have everything in place, then you can put it up to your wall and just make sure you do have enough clearance that to actually use it. Now if you guys have any other questions, just let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt and thanks for watching.
