Typically people buy these for RV installations or replacements, I’m an avid RV’er and like most of us have awnings on our rigs. I decided why not on my house too! They’re easy to install and adjustable to give us the summer shade on the back of our house which faces due West. The only thing you need to do is buy a 115vac to 12vdc converter that can handle up to 80% of 30amps. Plenty of those are available. Using the Lippert “smart” arms also provide additional flexibility.

I am extremely happy with my new awning. My original awning was destroyed by my own neglect. ETRAILER.COM was great, ordered a new awning unfortunately came in damaged. Contacted ETRAILER.COM sent a couple of pictures, and they sent me a whole new awning. With thier videos and instructions, it was extremely easy to install. It looked great. When the RV Repair Tech arrived and removed it from the shipping tube, it had been driven over with something pretty heavy. It broke the tube completely into and put a large flat spot on the roll. Tech saw it and said it could not be installed.

Exactly like the stock one. At least before I ripped it off on that one lane road an hour outside of Nashville. Easy to replace. Pretty straight forward and it works like a charm.

    The awning roller and fabric part # LCV000211486 that you referenced has a spring installed in the roller tube so that it will retract itself as you pull the awning in. Extending or retracting the arms via either a powered motor or manual method does not crank the roller. It just moves the arms of the awning and the roller unwinds itself and then winds itself back up as the arms move due to the spring in the roller.
