Adapter has a 45-degree angle that reduces stress on your sewer hose by keeping it from bending sharply. Bayonet end connects to waste valve, and other end secures to sewer hose with clamp (sold separately). Clear plastic shows when tank is empty.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra clear view sewer hose adapter. This sewer hose adapter is going to connect to a standard, three inch, bayonet style hub fitting. It's made from a durable plastic construction. The forty-five degree design is really going to help reduce the amount of stress that's placed on the sewer drain hose. Then, the clear design is going to let you see when the tank is clean. The bayonet fitting is going to feature the four hook design, and it's going to have the internal seal right here to offer leak-proof performance. This end is going to be where you would connect your drain hose.
It simply fits over this fitting, and then would secure with a hose clamp. Clamps are sold separately. Let me give you a external diameter right there. Measurement is going to be about two and seven-eighths of an inch, so just under three inches, so it'd easily fit into a three inch diameter hose. Ok, so yes, watching the stuff running out of your black water tank is probably not the most desirable part of a camping trip. That said, this "picture" as they say is worth a thousand words (many of them not worthy of printing). The flushing feature on the tank is pretty much a guessing game if you can't see when the tank is clean. It works and seals as expected, and as an added bonus it changes the angle of outflow from straight out to out-down-angled which is handy.

Essential gear for RVers... Makes it easy to tell when your black tank is flushed clear. I was surprised the first few times I used it at how much "stuff" was still coming out after a couple of flush/rinse cycles!

Great product for my fifth wheel septic. My pull handles were to far back for me to get at them. This product extends my septic tank rods so I can reach them better.

The connector I received seems to be well made and sturdy. I had ordered it hoping to fix a problem where the dump station receiver is recessed making it impossible to get a secure connection with the standard 90 degree connector. I was hoping the 45 degree would work. But the lugs on one side are not configured to attach to the screw in sewer connection.
I needed a familiar RV sewer connector and shopped for it online ... etrailer beat everybody on the price, shipped. I put in my order on the weekend and they just jumped all over it ... a little while later I got a notice it had been shipped. Even though I opted for the low-budget shipping, it still arrived during the week and in perfect condition. I had an older model of this product I use on my class A motorhome. In April during my yearly cleaning I accidentally broke it and needed a replacement. Works as advertised, clear view of the operation and rinsing of tanks, makes the whole experience easier. This 45 angle allows, in my opinion, for a better flow of the waste when compared to the more common 90 angle. Connection to a typical flex hose is fast and does not require extra clearance under the RV.
Works well along with a 2" exrension to connect my macerating pump to the RV fitting. Seals tight and is heavy enough that it won't fall apart on me.
We use these two fittings on our class A motor home. The 5" long straight line fitting alignes the waste to the opening, so the 45 degree will be centered in the access opening. This permits the waste pump to attach in an upright position. Since the waste pump should not be run empty, I can see when the tanks are empty and stop the pump when necessary. When using the flush out, I can tell when the waste has cleared.

This will definitely help fairlead my new sewer hose around the usual tight right angle turn from the camper discharge port to the sewage receptacle down the side of the camper.

it is working just as I had hoped. I used it ahead of my macerator pump so I can do a flush of the tanks ahead of the pump. they lock tight with no leaks.
