Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 1,400 raw lumen capacity and produces 990 effective lumens.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the OptiBrite Motion Activated LED Dome Light from Optronics. This light is designed for use in extreme temperatures. It's ideal for refrigerated trucks or trailers. Works well in conditions from negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit to positive 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It's a full LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer.
They burn brighter, and they're much more efficient, and you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. This is going to feature an operating voltage of seven to 30 volts DC. Voltage cut off at seven volts DC prevents battery drain. You can use this with 12 volt DC and 24 volt DC systems. The light output of the unit remains consistent at all operating voltages, so no dimming.
The light cuts off when the voltage is outside of the safe range, which is a nice design of the unit. On the backside, the unit's going to include your 16" long wires. These are 16 gauge power and ground wires with tinned ends. Directly at the center of the light is the motion sensor, so it is motion sensor activated. It's going to feature a polycarbonate lens and housing that's very strong and durable. When it comes to the power draw at 12.8 volts, we're looking at 1.61 amps.
At 24 volts, that's 0.80 amps. It's going to contain a total of eight diodes or eight LEDs. We're going to take a look at some of the overall dimensions real quick, and then we'll hook it up to power and show you how bright it is. Measuring edge to edge, it's going to give us an overall length measurement of 18 1/4" long. Going this direction, edge to edge, that's going to give us measurement of 5 3/4". It's a super thin light.
You can see that it does have a recessed area, and then it has that mounting flange that goes around. The depth is going to be about 1 5/64" deep. The lens area, so if I take a measurement of just the lens, going this direction, that lens is going to measure about 16 1/2". Going this direction, the lens measures about 4". Those measurements are the same as the measurements of the recessed area, 16 1/2" x 4". The mount holes on the unit, you can see that there's going to be two on bottom, two on top, two on each side of the unit. From this hole to this hole, center on center, those are going to be separated by 17 1/8". From this hole to this hole on center is going to be separated by 4 3/4. These two holes right here, going that direction, those are separated on center by 2 3/16". These holes on center are separated by 5 11/16" on center. You will notice that all of the holes are elongated, so I do want to point out that the holes like this one measure 1 3/8" long. The holes, here, on the sides are going to measure 1/2" long. Optronics also puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. Let's go ahead and hook it up to power. That way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. Our black wire is our power wire, and then our white wire is our ground wire. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights, so you can see it in a low-light setting. You can see it sends out a nice consistent signal. Again, it's going to contain a total of eight LEDs, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the light output. I love these lights. They are very bright, use very little energy and turn themselves off when not in use. They were very easy to install and have held up very well in cold and damp conditions. I would recommend these to anyone trying to add light to their work areas, especially good for delivery vehicles.

The motion sensor option is great, never have to worry about leaving your lights on again. Excellent product, and excellent service. I highly recommend these lights and etrailer!
Looks very nice and well made. We will know more once we place it. We are using it in an off the grid cabin.
Hey I gotta tell ya this light is awesome, I've had it in service for about a year, in really harsh weather, from -10 to nearly 100 degrees, it's been flawless.
I love the motion switch it simply "Works." It could be little brighter,, However over all I love it.

These are fantastic. Replaced two main lights, both controlled by a wall mounted switch, in our 21' travel trailer. The additional light from these is amazing. We can now see inside the cupboards and closets without needing a flashlight. Installation was easy and straightforward, just remember that LEDs are polarity specific. Also keep in mind that these do not have a switch in them, which is why I only replaced the two main lights. We like them so well we just ordered another to replace the bathroom light, also controlled by a wall switch. I would replace all the lights with these if they had internal switches.

Added 4 of these during a rustic hunting cabin lighting project. These are for the shed and provide awesome lighting. I didn't realize the back side of the shed door was cream colored because we never closed the door before due to needing all the light we could get. Because it is a shed and we run these off of batteries I used a standard bathroom fan timer switch to make sure the lights don't get left on forever.

I installed 4 of these lights low on the wall to assist in lighting the tie down anchors and straps in my car hauler trailer. They are very bright and easy to mount with 4 screws. These 4 lights and the 3 ceiling lights that I purchased from etrailer.com work great in making an enclosed trailer very bright inside. The surface mount makes these lights AAA+.

The lighting in my cargo trailer contained 4 incandescent fixtures that had burned out bulbs most of the time. They never were really bright even when all worked. I took this pair of photos at night so you can see the difference. The LED lights burn cooler, use less of my storage battery charge, and the bouncing of the highway won't harm them. Well worth the price and an easy installation.

These lights are outstanding. They are slim design and bright. Easy to install. You do have to provide your own screws and wire connections, which does allow you the ability to choose what works best. Great product and highly recommended. The brightness is amazing for such a small thin light.

The lite works excellant. It was the right size and shape as advertised and wired direct. Could not have asked for a better fit!!!! Goes along with the other five lites I put in the same trailer, one in the bathroom,one under each cabinet over the couches,one above the beds that drop down, and one under the kitchen cabinets over the sink area. LOVE them all!!!!

Plug and Play replacement for Workhorse P42 (Morgan Olson) cab light. I wanted to decrease the power consumption on battery. It went from 2.2 Amps to 0.35
It's plenty bright enough to illuminate the cab area while saving my batteries to start this antique 396 diesel motor.
