Video Transcript for Thule Rooftop Cargo Box Lid Cover Comprehensive Review

Hey, everyone, I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the lid cover designed specifically for your Thule roof boxes. Now, this is available in three different sizes for different types of roof boxes. Today, we have size one for your smaller boxes. I use roof boxes all the time. They're so helpful when I need a little extra cargo space for all those different adventures and road trips. However, I'm not using it all the time.

Often it's stored in my garage or actually in my basement, and that's where I tend to scratch the box up. You'll see here we've had this box down here for a while. I'll show you where I usually have it stored and then you'll understand why getting a cover like this is super helpful. So instead of this just being exposed to the elements, rubbing up against all types of corners, this fits on over your roof box and adds that extra layer of protection. The material of a cover is what Thule calls vleece, which really just means fleece.

It's a common dust cover material. You'll see it often on bags. And you have stretchy elastic alongside the bottom. That way this fits over your boxes, and even though you have smaller boxes, they do still have slightly different shapes. So this allows for that versatility.

One of my favorite parts with this though are the little bags on each side, and that way, when you lock up your box, you can store the keys in this pouch and then this secures with a little hook and loop. You get a special sneak peek at our storage area. You can see we have all kinds of totes set up, and this is where we put our roof boxes. So you can see here as we fit this roof box into this space how easy it is to potentially get scratched up, to get caught on things. But now that we have our dust cover, this protects the box while it's in storage, and when it's ready to go for our next adventure, I can just grab the box, take off the cover, and put this on my roof.

So really helpful for those storage situations. And when you do take this off your roof, you can fold and roll this up, and it has its own pouch sewn into the bag. So this is how I've found it best to fit into that pouch. You don't have to worry about it too much with being a perfect fit. You can stuff most of it. Definitely makes this a lot more compact. And then you have this little hook-and-loop patch that keeps this all together. And I would actually either put this back in the storage area where the box usually is, or you can store it in the box with all your other gear. If you have a Thule roof box, I highly recommend getting a lid cover for it, especially when you have those glossy finishes. You do not want that getting scratched up while it's in storage. If you're gonna get any scratches, it might as well be when you're out on a great adventure.
