Video Transcript for Front Runner 2M Easy-Out Awning Review - 2023 Kia Seltos - FR43EJ

Hi there, I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we are taking a look at how the Front Runner 2M Easy-Out awning fits on a 2023 Kia Seltos. And if you're considering this awning because it adds some shade really quickly, it's easy to set up, but also it's price point is really reasonable, well, for the Kia Seltos was actually something that I was considering adding to my adventures. Now this is available in three different sizes. There's the smaller one, there's the 2M, which is the middle size, and it goes up to 2.5. The main differences there is gonna be the length of the awning in comparison to the vehicle.

I think the 2M is gonna be a great fit for you. Now, a lot of people also look at these awning because of the attachments you can get with it. So it doesn't work just as an awning, but you can get like a room or some mosquito net walls, and those attach very quickly, creating just a rectangle beside your vehicle. So you can use it as like a tent space or your base camp. And I like that option because then it expands upon the awning.

But the downside is that that attachment takes up a lot of space. So I would also recommend considering like a roof box or a hitch cargo carrier because the Seltos doesn't quite have a lot of cargo capacity for a lot of extra things. Now, with the, technically, the length of the awning, I do like that too just because it adds about 6 feet and 10 inches to the side of the Seltos. So almost seven feet. There's a lot of space there.

You also have technically a lot of height since this does move up and down. If you want it in line with the Seltos though, since the Seltos is a shorter vehicle, it does sit pretty close down. So you do have to be mindful that whatever height you do set it up to, if it does rain, the water's just gonna run whichever direction you have the awning tilted. So just adjust accordingly if a little rainstorm kicks up. Now, what was unique though is how I had to install this to Seltos.

The Seltos needs to have a roof rack that has channels. I have some Thule crossbar here. It has channels. I use the universal brackets with this car, but I had to use my own hardware to fit with those channels. I actually use some Lockrack replacement T-bolts. You can use pretty much any T-bolt that works into that. You just really can't use the Front Runner hardware because those are bolts designed to be used with Front Runner racks. So just keep that in mind since chances are kind of low that you have a Front Runner roof rack on your Seltos. There's a lot of other crossbar options available for you. And you can find custom-fit ones available right here at etrailer. I do like how the awning attaches though because it does go off to the side. So then if I needed to put a roof box or a kayak or some bikes on the other side of the crossbars, I can and I have the space to do so. So if you're curious about any of the features and specs of the awning, how to get it all set up, how to roll it up into its cargo bag, check out my full review video here at etrailer. I think this is gonna be a great fit for your Seltos if you're looking for something that is easy that's set up and doesn't take up much space, and again, is a reasonably priced awning. But if you wanna check out the other options, we have plenty of them available right here at etrailer. Today, I just wanted you to see how it looks like real quick on this car, as well as some tips and tricks for getting it all set up on your crossbars. Today, this is the look at the Front Runner 2M Easy-Out awning on the 2023 Kia Seltos. My name is Evangeline, and I hope you enjoyed this journey.
