I've always used Yakima/Thule and was a little apprehensive about going with Rhino. I wanted a reasonably priced roof rack of my Jeep Grand Cherokee and etrailer.com had exactly what I wanted. I have ordered from etrailer.com in the past and they have never disappointed me. I particularly like the online videos that etrailer.com has on the products they sell. I don't have to read the written instructions with the roof rack, just follow the video and the rack fits perfectly.
The RLCP Leg Kit fit was easy to install and fit the vehicle perfectly. A couple of minor issues and suggestions. The instructions were not clear as to exactly where the Butyl patches go, but I figured around the bold/mount due to the hole punched in the patches. The M126 pad cover plates worked prefectly on the front Front mounting pads (M716 and M717), but the holes didn't line up on the Rear mounting pads (M718 and M719). I had to enlarge the holes in the M126 cover plates so the bolts could line up with the rear pads.
Received Rhino roof rack for Toyota Highlander, 2018. Rapid delivery, easy assembly but takes an hour or so. Like the feature that racks are easy to put on and remove, after installation of custom mounting brackets. With this type of straight rack i have no desire to leave on all the time. Perfect for my application of occasional use for Kayak, lumber, doors, etc.
I bought this set for loading my surf board. The reason why I bought this one rather than OEM cross bars is it's wider than OEM parts. I can load two surf board at the same time side by side. Or I can load one surf board and other cargo box at the same time.
It's easy to install and looks sturdy. But there was one flaw in the user's manual. The manual described the length of the slip between mount and center of the bar. The number was totally wrong. As far as I measured, front length is almost 130 mm each and rear was 110 mm. But the manual says front is 110 mm and rear is 83 mm. Fortunately I could adjust the length for myself but it was not happy experience.

We'll start with the good. The racks look great once installed and are very durable like I expect from Rhino Rack.
There are a few thing I have noticed with the quality of materials and the design of the roof racks. First off, I have noticed a reduction in the quality of the hardware. Once you get the mounting points secured, which was relatively easily, they ask you to secure the legs with 1 security screw per leg. Not only does the screw not turn more that 2 turns without stopping, the included security hex wrench is small and fails to turn the screws without stripping. I have found since they don't quite fit, I had to WD-40 the screw and the hole, and the use pliers to grab the head of the screw and work it in there. Once you are able to bore the hole out that way, you can back it out quite easily, and the you can use the included wrench to install.
I thought the hardware and Allen wrench device they included with their roof racks several years ago were much higher quality and easier to work with. I also thought paying nearly $400 for these racks would justify high quality materials and tools, but I suppose Rhino Rack is cutting corners as well. The L shaped torx wrench they provide does a poor job of gripping the screw and is nearly worthless, because of the fact that the screws do not fit in the holes without other tools.
Also, a small thing that has been mentioned before on this site, the plastic locking caps are not the highest security measure, but I see you can upgrade to metal end caps for more money. I feel this should be included for this price point.
I believe this may be my last set of Rhino Racks because I just see their quality going the wrong direction.
Kit came without hardware. Instruction sheet was only for AERO crossbars, which I did not order. the Colorado people were quick, and the hardware arrived. I got the instructions from Rhino website. Obviously, the person who designated this kit for a 2012 Suzuki, Grand Vitara has never seen one. The clips for the attach points were too wide to fit under the hold-down, and were too tall to be of any use. The bottom pad did not cover the mounting point. I improvised, and removed the screws in the mounting point. I drilled holes through the mount pads and had to buy bolts @$1.30 ea (8), secured them into the vacated mounting holes, and they secured it better than the proposed kit. I also had to shave the lip of the lower pad, for it to fit flush. It is mounted, rigid, and looks good. I would recommend a refit for installation, and any one with a Suzuki, Grand Vitara beware. Not at all your fault, you simply promoted as advertised. I did an undue amount of modification, and for the price paid, I am, to say the least, not very pleased. The end result, however, is very good, and I'm happy with the product.
