When you’re loading up for a weekend trip or gearing up for a long haul, space is everything. The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform gives you a big, flat surface—59" long x 54" wide x 1-3/4" tall—so you can fit gear of all shapes and sizes. It’s perfect for carrying everything from camping bins to coolers without juggling odd-shaped cargo or stacking things awkwardly.
Long drives can get noisy when roof gear catches the wind. This rack’s low-profile, aerodynamic design helps cut down on drag and wind noise. The included detachable wind fairing helps airflow pass smoothly, keeping things quieter and more efficient whether you’re cruising at highway speed or rolling through backroads.
You can mount more than just cargo—this platform’s integrated channels let you add awnings, light brackets, shovel holders, spare tire carriers, and more. If you want to bring a kayak carrier or cargo box, accessory bars (sold separately) make it easy. The channels also let you route wiring internally through the frame for a clean setup that keeps cables protected and out of sight.
When the pavement ends, this rack is ready to keep going. It’s built from aluminum with reinforced nylon connectors and a powder-coated finish for durability and scuff resistance. Designed and tested for off-road conditions, it handles rough terrain without flexing or shaking loose. The rugged build makes it a solid choice for tailgating, overlanding, or any outdoor adventure.
You get everything you need to mount it securely—1 platform, 2 tracks, 4 legs, 4 adapters, spacer blocks, and a torque tool set. The custom track system installs on your roof using a rivet gun, while the RT tracks provide adjustable mounting points. Once in place, the RLTP legs bolt into the top channels so you can fine-tune spacing and keep the platform level.

The rack is outstanding! It's extremely well built and sturdy, and fit my Excursion perfectly. I highly recommend it. etrailer.com shipped it quickly and showed me where it was every step of the journey, and I was able to be at my house when it arrived (in two large boxes). 100% satisfied with both etrailer and the roof rack.
This roof rack is very well made and easy to put together. A few of my friends have purchased this same rack for their rigs. Very universal.
I did a lot of research before settling on this roof platform. I’m really happy with the build quality and once it’s all together it has a lot of strength and versatility. My ONLY complaint is that the “Quick Foot” mounting feet for the factory rail that was sent to me did not have matching key codes. The codes are clearly listed on the boxes and someone at etrailer.com didn’t bother to grab a matching set. Bummer.
After waiting for shipping and finally pulling it all out for the install I was too far into the project to ask for replacement feet. I just installed what was sent.
We bought the Pioneer Platform to go ontop of our Ford Excursion. I called to make sure that this was the model that came with the mounts that fit in the factory luggage rack rails. etrailer was super helpful over the phone. They had really good customer service. We put the Smittybilt Overlander XL rooftop tent on the platform. It all works great. I'd highly recommend etrailer to anyone everyone.
