Sleeping across the back of your Sprinter puts the side walls right at your head and feet. This driver-side bump out extends that rear quarter outward, giving you more room to stretch out, plus a half-slider window for airflow.
When you sleep sideways in the back of your Sprinter, there isn't much room between your head, your feet, and the van walls, which can leave the sleeping area feeling cramped and uncomfortable. This bump out extends the driver-side rear quarter outward, giving you more room at that end of the bed for a roomier, more comfortable sleeping setup without changing the rest of your interior layout.
Once the sun goes down, the rear quarter is where you end up digging through gear, setting up camp, or working around the back of the van. A 12V LED light bar is integrated into the bump out, with pigtail wiring included for connecting it to your electrical system.
After the opening is cut, urethane primer is applied around the opening before a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied. Once the window is pressed into place, the urethane bonds the frame to the body and forms the weather seal that keeps water out. Consistent bead thickness helps create a proper seal, and the window is taped in position while the urethane cures.
