The new end caps are identical to the old ones which actually were still in good shape but I had to remove them in order to install new rubber tie down straps on the cradles; therefore I thought the new end caps would fit very snugly when I put them on. They did not fit snugly and I realized there must have been a screw or a brad of some sort holding the old end caps on as they were very difficult to remove. After examining the old and new end caps I noticed a hole on the bottom of each one and a hole through the metal rod on which the end caps fit and then I realized that must be where a screw or brad has to be inserted to secure the end caps. None came with the new end caps nor any installation instructions so I improvised by using glue and a metal screw to secure the new end caps.
