We recently were in an auto accident and our Swagman bike rack took a brunt of the damage, but saved the car from lots of damage. As it turned out the piece out of the hitch was severely bent, but the holders for the bike tires were ok. I asked etrailer if I could order just the part that was bent. They were great!!! They checked with Swagman and we determined that I only need the part that goes into the hitch receiver. The part was ordered and received in record time for the next bike trip. 95% of this product was perfect. My wife backed her car into mine and damaged the main assembly beyond repair, so i was thrilled to find this here for over $100 less than replacing the entire rack, as only the assembly was damaged. And the Swagman wanted over $200 for this part, before shipping/taxes, so this was much cheaper.
It fits perfect to the rest of the rack and into the hitch.
However, the 5% that was a problem was the metal piece that goes inside the part that goes into the hitch. This is an internal threaded female piece that the pin screws into. Swagman states to apply 80 lbs of torque, which is a lot. But my previous rack had no problem. I torqued it to 80 and it was good. When i torqued this one before it even came close it stripped and the screw just spun.
Fortunately I still had my damanged rack as was able to pull that female adapter out and use it in the new one, and again torqued to 80 no swear.
So just be aware that you can't full torque the internal piece on this one, hence the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 713094

Thought I’d have to buy a whole new bike carrier due to damage but fortunately etrailer, and not the manufacturer, carried the replacement part I needed. Totally unexpected.
