MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100833-15

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 1 Foot Long
  • 1/4 Inch - MIF
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator on your trailer. Check valve prevents backflow leakage and is suitable for dual-tank setups. Stainless Steel overbraiding protects hose from damage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male Inverted flare connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Stainless steel overbraid protects the hose from damage
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 15" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Type 1 tank connection
    • 1/4" Male inverted flare
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

  • Recommended Hoses and Regulator to Connect 100 Pound Cylinder to Main House Line
It sounds like you are needing a hose and regulator to go from your 100 pound cylinder to the house main line. If you have a DOT tank with a Type 1 fitting, you can use a hose like the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-15, which can connect to a regulator like # 108220. From there you can connect a hose assembly like the 4 foot # 100383-48-MBS if your main line uses a 1/2 inch flare fitting. You can also install the Camco Propane Cylinder Gas Gauge # CAM59023 to the tank before the...

This is a 2 foot hose, though we also have a 15" hose # 100833-15 and 1 foot hose # 100575-12-MBS. • Replacement Pigtail Hose With 1/4" NPT Fitting For An Old Accuflex 454-04 1/4" NPT Pigtail
The MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 15" # 100833-15 is an 1/4" inverted flare tip and your regulator requires a standard 1/4" NPT fitting. You just need a pigtail like Propane Hose with Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" Male NPT - 15" # 37207-30855. I've attached our help guide article below which goes over all of the different propane fitting types and offers a ton of additional information. I've also attached a picture of a NPT and MIF...

  • Replacement Propane Pigtail
Hey Jennifer it sounds like you need to replace the fitting and line going to the propane tank from the regulator. I am not sure what double regulator you are using but the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail w/ Back Check item # 100833-15 has a 1/4" Male inverted flare fitting and is 1' long. We also have a 2' long one item # 100833-24.

  • Dual Tank Regulator for 100 Pound Propane Tanks to Run a Heater at 80,000 BTU
Hello Edward, I have the perfect regulator for you, the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005. Not only can this regulator handle the 80,000 BTUs that your heater requires, but it will also automatically switch from the primary tank to the reserve tank when it detects that the primary is empty. If you need some new pigtails you could grab a pair of the # 100833-15. I have also included some review videos so you can get a good feel for the...

  • Propane Pigtail Recommendation for a 100-lbs Tank Going to a Regulator

  • Recommendation For Propane Regulator And Propane Hose For 100 Gallon Propane Tank
What you need will depend on what you have. For a regulator, I recommend the Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Regulator, Item # CAM59333, or the Camco Vertical 2-Stage Regulator, Item # CAM59313. If your 100 gallon tank is an ASME that is generally installed in a motorhome then you will need a horizontal regulator like Item # CAM59333. If the tank is not installed in a motorhome then you will likely need a vertical regulator like Item # CAM59313. Both regulators maintain a constant 11 inch w.c....

  • What is the Fitting Size on the Stainless Steel Furrion 2-in-1 Range Ovens
The 21" Stainless Steel Furrion 2-in-1 Range Oven # FSRE21SABL has a 3/8” Male Flare fitting. If you are wanting to use a 20 or 30 lb propane tank with this oven then I recommend using the 4' # 100040-48-MBS, 6' # 100040-72-MBS, or 12' # 100040-144-MBS hose along with a dual stage regulator, part # 108220 with the fitting # 204120-MBS for a single tank or part # CAM59005 for dual tanks. Once you have all of this connected you just need a pigtail like part # 100833-15 to your propane tank(s)...

  • Can Type 1 Propane Connector be Used for Propane Tank with Threads on Outside
Thank you for the photo! Since your propane tank has the threads on the outside and inside it means that you can use a pigtail with either the POL or Type 1 connection like you're asking about. Swapping over to the Type 1 is a great idea just because it's easier to twist on plus you don't have to mess with any kind of sealant. If your regulator has the adapter on it then I recommend using the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 15" # 100833-15...

  • Recommended Propane Connections for Fryer in Food Cart
To connect your 40 lb portable propane tank, you will want the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid # 100833-15. Then you will want the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet # 108221. We do not have the adapter for the 3/4 inch NPT as that is not typical for RV use, so you will need to get a hose from a local home improvement store that has an adapter to the 1/4 inch male pipe thread to connect to the regulator. That combination will...

  • Changeover/Regulator and Pigtail Harness or RV with Two 100 lb Propane Tanks
What you are looking for is a dual stage propane regulator with an automatic changeover like the JR Products Compact Low Pressure 2-Stage Automatic Changeover # 37207-31525. This connects to both of your tanks and automatically switches between them so that you can use both tanks without having to manually switch between them. For a 15 inch pigtail to connect from each tank to the regulator then we have the steel braided part # 100833-15 which will work great.

  • Pigtail Hose for Use with Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator CAM59005
In general it is best to use the shortest suitable length of hose for just about any propane application since a shorter hose means less potential for pressure loss. To connect two tanks to the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59005 you could use a pigtail as short as the 15-inch MB Sturgis # 100833-15 or the 3-foot # 100833-36, both shown on the linked page. You might care to check out the two linked articles on propane fittings and system operation.
