Taking care of your plow or salt spreader in the off-season pays off when the snow flies. Hydra-Flush stays in the hydraulic system during summer storage, cleaning internal components so everything works smoothly when winter work starts again.
After a long winter, contaminants can build up inside your hydraulic system, and letting the unit sit all spring and summer with old fluid can set you up for sticky valves or sluggish response in the fall. Meyer Hydra-Flush is meant to be added after you drain the M1 hydraulic fluid in the spring, then left in the system during storage to help clean internal components and dissolve impurities over the off-season. This bottle contains one quart of Hydra-Flush; some Meyer hydraulic pumps may require more than one quart to fill completely, so be sure to check your owner's manual for the correct fluid capacity. When it's time to get ready for snow, you drain the Hydra-Flush and refill with fresh M1 hydraulic fluid (sold separately - ME24FR) for smoother operation.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Meyer M2 Hydra-Flush cleaning fluid for hydraulic snow plows and salt spreaders. So folks, after a long vigorous winter of plowing and spreading salt, contaminants and impurities will build up inside the hydraulic system, I guarantee you that. And if that dirty fluid sits there all summer, obviously whenever you need to go use it again, you're gonna end up with stuck valves, sluggish hydraulic operation when you need that right away. And we don't think about those things sometimes. So that's where the Hydra-Flush will come in.
This is not your regular operating hydraulic fluid. It has been designed specifically for when the season is over and it's been designed specifically for cleaning that system before you put it into long-term storage, meaning the summertime and those kind of things. So you'll drain out your old Meyer M1 hydraulic fluid. You'll fill the system with the Hydra-Flush, then you can leave it there during the storage, allow it to clean internal components. It's gonna dissolve things over time and all that stuff.
And then before the next season starts, you'll drain this out and refill your system with fresh Meyer M1 hydraulic fluid. So the idea here is basically preventative maintenance, right So instead of waiting till your plow starts lifting slowly or valve begins sticking in the middle of the season, this will guarantee that it's clean and ready to go for the next time. You got a little red cap here for whenever you cut the tip off here that obviously will screw in place once you take the cap off to help pour it in. This is sealed, so I'm not gonna open it and screw it on, but you get the picture, right So folks, you're gonna get one quarter of this Hydra-Flush. Just make sure you check your pump fluid capacity.
Some Meyer hydraulic systems require more than one bottle to give you a complete fill. So again, you want to match up the quantity with what you need for your system. Folks, that's gonna wrap up our look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
