When your RV is parked on full hookups, this bypass valve kit switches between Black Tank and Residential Flush modes for upper-level bathrooms. The included remote drive handle makes recessed valve installations easier to reach and operate.
When your RV is parked with a sewer connection, sending every flush through the black tank can mean more dumping, rinsing, and cleanup than you want to deal with. This system lets you switch between Black Tank mode and Residential Flush mode, so you can reserve black tank use for when you actually need it. In Residential Flush mode, waste routes directly to the sewer, helping your bathroom routine feel a little more like home and a little less tied to tank maintenance.
A residential-style toilet can feel out of place when the rest of your RV plumbing still works like a traditional holding-tank setup. This bypass valve system is compatible with RV gravity toilets, macerating toilets, and residential-style toilets, helping your bathroom setup feel more like the one you use at home while connected to a sewer hookup. Instead of treating every flush like a traditional RV holding-tank setup, your bathroom can work more like the residential-style system you wanted in the first place.
When your bypass valve is recessed inside an enclosed underbelly or mounted deep beneath the bathroom floor, switching modes can turn into a crawl-under-the-RV chore every time you hook up to sewer service. This kit includes the MORryde Adjustable Manual Drive Kit, allowing you to operate the bypass valve from a more accessible wall-mounted handle location. Your setup stays easier to use during long campground stays without needing to reach the valve directly.
Not every RV layout leaves enough room to comfortably reach a bypass valve by hand. The included manual drive kit uses an adjustable shaft ranging from 24" to 90" long, allowing the control handle to be mounted where it is easier to reach and operate. Shaft sections are assembled using only the length needed, giving you more flexibility when routing around enclosed underbellies or recessed plumbing layouts.
This system was designed for upper-level RV bathrooms, including many fifth wheel layouts, where enough clearance exists beneath the toilet for the bypass valve assembly. Installation requires the valve to mount directly below the toilet with at least 24" of clearance beneath the floor, along with a minimum drain plumbing pitch of 1/4" per foot to support proper waste flow. When those layout requirements are met, your setup can support both Black Tank and Residential Flush operation.
Switching to Residential Flush mode changes how waste moves through your RV plumbing, so an important supporting component is recommended for your setup. To help prevent sewer gases from entering the RV while allowing continuous waste drainage, MORryde recommends using the Snap Trap P-Trap (MR99RV - sold separately) for RV sewer hoses. It creates a water barrier in the sewer hose so you can leave your waste/termination valve open at a full-hookup campsite without relying on makeshift hose loops or DIY odor fixes.
This system requires modifications to RV waste plumbing and proper routing for Residential Flush operation. We recommend having the installation completed by a certified RV technician or licensed plumber. Check out our Installer Locator to find an installer near you.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the MORryde Black Tank Bypass Valve and Manual Drive Kit for recessed pipes. So folks, if you're looking for a great way to simplify your RV waste management and enjoy a more residential style camp experience, check this out with me, right This is a complete system that's gonna allow you to switch between traditional black tank operation and residential flush mode at just a simple turn of a valve here on this valve assembly. And what's even cooler about this is you don't even have to be right here where I am. You can use the included kit here to get it out to where you can reach it.
So obviously, RV's and campers are all set up differently with different spaces and clearances. This drive shaft to adjust from 24 inches all the way out to impressive 90 inches. So more than enough to probably get to where you need and make that sewer connection. And this is gonna help because instead of them filling and dumping those black tanks, now I can flow waste directly to my sewer connection at my site. That's gonna reduce water usage, minimize odors, and actually decrease the need for chemicals, which will also cut down on the maintenance and stuff that we need for a black tank.
So again, you're gonna get the industry first black tank bypass valve kit, and I was just showing you how that works. You've got an out number one and no out number two and vice versa. And then of course, everything's coming in from the top here. And whenever you turn this, you're actually turning a big valve in there to just switch from which one that it's going to. Now you're gonna get a couple of other things here in the kit.
You're gonna get the manual handle here, like I just showed you, where you can manually turn this. And then you're also going to get these four bars, which is gonna extend that access out to that full 90 inches if you need to. You're gonna have a different plate here, which would be on the outside of the RV or camper, depending on which way you turn that. Whenever it's time, you're gonna either go to the bypass mode or directly to the black tank. You're also gonna have this adapter here for the pipe to secure two and whatnot.
And then you also have an optional face plate here, because in the kit you're gonna include the parts needed minus a motor. If you want to make this electronically rotate, there's an option for a motor sold separately, a total motor that you can also add onto the kit. That would give you the option to then just flip a switch, push a button, and then it'll automatically switch that way as well. So a lot of different options, a lot of stuff here in the kit. Everything obviously is black powder coated, that's steel. And then everything else is your traditional plumbing makeup. Now this also is recommended to be used in conjunction with MORryde Snap P-Trap, part number MR99 RV sold separately. And you also gonna make sure you have 24 inches of space beneath your toilet floor and one quarter inch per foot plumbing pitch. So that P-trap, obviously, we wanna make sure we're getting that P-trap in there in our exit hose and our drain. That way we're not getting those sewer gases coming back up into the RV and those kind of things. But it also helps with continue water waste drainage as well in that. So again, we're setting it up basically like a residential style of plumbing. Now, all that to be said, if you don't wanna do this installation, no problem. You can use our install locator link below, and we can help find trusted etrailer installers in your area based on your zip code. So again, folks, whether you're a full-time RV or just a seasoner camper or just one who wants to spend a lot of time at the full hookup campground, so maybe you're a snowbird or something of that nature, who knows, this system gives you that convenience again of a residential plumbing, while maintaining the flexibility of being able to pack up, go on your way, and still have that traditional RV waste system all in an innovative upgrade that's designed to make your life cleaner, easier and more enjoyable. Well folks, that's gonna wrap up our quick look together at this MORryde Black Tank Bypass Valve and manual drive kit. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
