Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the pocket wire saw. This is just a very lightweight, thin wire saw that you can use when you're backpacking or camping. You need to cut down some limbs to make your campfire at night. This is going to be a very convenient way of doing that.Simply unfold it.

And you can see here if I zoom in a little bit for you. It's got this jagged braiding to it. So it's not going to hurt your fingers or anything like that, but it is going to give you enough of that teeth, enough grip, or grit to soft through a tree limb so that you can go ahead and make your campfire. This is a stainless steel cable here. It's going to be very durable and rust resistant.

So I think it's going to be very convenient for those of you who are backpacking or need a simple, carry a long saw with you.Obviously when you're backpacking or camping, you don't want to take a whole lot of heavy equipment. So this is going to be a great option for you. Continuing to zoom out here so that I can give you the measurements. It is pretty long, even though it does fold up to a nice compact size. I'm going to say it's right about 27 and three quarters of an inch. If I'm only counting the wire itself or the blade, if you will, going in from these cutouts here, or these tabs, rather . I'd say it's just over 21, about 21 and a quarter of an inch long. So I have about 21 inches of usable space. And as you can see, it does want to curl back up into its carry position.

So we can easily tuck that in our backpack or hiking bag, whatever we're using to carry our equipment.It's going to fit nicely in there. It's very lightweight. Only about half an ounce. These little rings here that you would put your fingers in to hold as you're sawing. These are pivoting, so rotate 360 degrees, make it very convenient for you to get in there and turn those as you need to get the right angle to saw down those limbs. So that's really all there is to it, a great product, in my opinion. Like I said, when you're out camping, you want a lightweight option to cut down some of those tree limbs that are up off the ground, staying dry, making for a good fire.
