Hello, neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the DTT towers for your Thule Xscape ladder rack. Now, the Thule xscape Ladder rack is a kind of a sportier style of ladder rack, at a really good weight capacity, along with the fact that you can adjust the height of your bars up and down as needed. And the DTT towers go specifically with the xscape, and they also go specifically with certain bedrail kits. So for a standard bedrail like we have today, we're gonna use this with a specific bedrail kit that you'll be able to get. And there is another bedrail kit that would go if you have the C-track that you find in the bed of say a Toyota Tacoma. They've got those rails that go around the inside.
There is a bedrail kit that will attach your DTT tower to that as well. So once you have the correct bedrail kit for whatever specific truck that you have, one of the other things that we'll have here on these towers is that there is a bar up here to go into the T-slot of whatever crossbars you choose. Now, the Xscape has two different crossbar sizes available, so get whichever one is appropriate for you and your truck. But there's a 60-inch bar available and there is a 70-inch bar available for the Xscape ladder rack. And as far as height adjustment goes, the height of this ladder rack is adjusted in notches.
So it's got very specific increments. They're about 1.4 inches apart, almost an inch and a half apart. And I actually really like the fact that it notches like that. Some of the other adjustable ladder racks available out there just print or laser etch a scale on the inside. You've really gotta make sure that both sides are exactly where they need to be so you don't end up with an uneven bar.
The fact that these are cut out for us already is fantastic. I can make those adjustments through this knob right here. I could just push it in, adjust it up and down as needed. And when I do get it to the height that I'd like, I just need to take the included tool from Thule and get that tightened down. And with those 1.4-inch increment adjustments up and down that you can do with this tower, you can take your bar height from about 17 inches above your bedrail at its lowest point, all the way up to 27.6 inches above the rail at its highest point.
You just wanna keep in mind that your weight capacity is gonna go down when you raise it up. At its lowest, you're gonna get a 500-pound weight capacity. Anything adjusted above that, your capacity goes to 300 pounds. So that's a look at the Thule DTT towers for your Xscape ladder rack. And if I can give one piece of advice, it would simply be that you just really wanna make sure you've got the appropriate bedrail kit for your specific truck and get the correct bar length for your specific truck as well. You don't wanna go too long in a lot of situations and you definitely don't wanna go too short. But if you have any questions regarding this or anything else from the Thule Xscape, go ahead and leave those in the comments below. We would love to answer those for you. It'll just help you and other neighbors just like you to make the best decision for yourself. Once again, this is Curt with etrailer. Thanks for stopping by.
