Hello, neighbors and friends, Steve here with etrailer.com. Folks, today, we're looking at our MORryde Tailgate Reinforcement for the Jeep Wrangler JLs. Now, folks, this is a custom fit application, so please make sure you're checking out our fit guide here at etrailer.com. Keep in mind, videos can become outdated, and newer years could possibly fit. So getting into it, folks, this nice support frame is gonna reinforce your tailgate to be able to handle extra weight for things such as a spare tire that's oversized.

And it's gonna work with factory and aftermarket spare tire carriers. Now, this is compatible with the MORryde heavy-duty tailgate hinges and heavy-duty spare tire mount. Those are sold separately, I'll put them on the screen for you. This is a simple bolt-on installation to your tailgate. There's no drilling whatsoever required, you simply remove your spare tire carrier, and then use the included hardware before me to install this frame onto your Jeep's pre-existing holes.

They do even include the anti-seize lubricant for smooth installation with the nice hardware. Everything here is made in the US. You've got the little support brackets here as well. These are tapered on one side, keep that in mind. Follow the instructions that come with it, and you should have no problems.

Now, with this kit, you should be able to safely hold and carry, with that spare tire mount by MORryde, a spare tire between 37 to 40 inches in diameter. Now, as far as some quick dimensions, as far as these guys here, the supports, overall, I was getting right at 9 1/2 inches long by 2 3/16 inch wide. And at the tallest point here near the back, I get about 1 1/8 inches tall. As far as the reinforcement itself, overall, the total length, I got 21 inches. If I go from the middle bar to the edge, I got 18 7/16.

If I go to the inside of that to the outside, I get 16 3/8. Overall, this way, I get 12 7/16. And both of these wide bars are about 2 1/2 inches wide overall. The whole kit here weighs only about 32 pounds, it's not too bad. That's with everything included, so keep that in mind. Has a nice one-year warranty.
