Your RV needs better cooling in the summer, and a little heat on cold mornings won't hurt either. This GE Appliances rooftop unit pulls double duty with efficient AC and a builty-in heat pump that takes the edge off when temps dip.
Heating with propane brings two problems: it costs more than you think, and you're never sure if you have enough to get through the night. This rooftop unit with a built-in heat pump changes that. The heat pump uses electric power to take the edge off cold mornings, so your furnace doesn't have to do all the work. You get reliable warmth through the same ceiling assembly you use for cooling, and the more you heat with electric, the less propane you burn. It's one less system to manage, and one more reason you can camp longer without thinking about your fuel gauge.
Looking to stay cool without stressing your electrical system? This high-efficiency unit delivers full-capacity cooling with a focus on energy-conscious performance. It's built for RVers running on smaller generators, limited shore power, or older rigs with tight electrical margins, so you stay comfortable without overloading your setup.
Ductless air conditioners move air straight into the RV without relying on ceiling ductwork, making them ideal for smaller rigs, retrofits, or any setup where simplicity matters. With a ductless system, what you see is what you get: a rooftop unit connected directly to a ceiling assembly that pushes steady airflow into your living space. They're also perfect for adding a second AC to areas that never cool down properly, like an upper bunk or bonus room. If your RV has no ductwork, a ductless setup gives you cooling power you can feel.
A lot's changed in RV cooling over the years, and one of the biggest shifts is what's inside the system - not just the tech, but the refrigerant itself. This model uses R-32, a newer refrigerant that cools efficiently while producing significantly less environmental impact. It's cleaner, more future-friendly, and already becoming the standard across the industry. If you're replacing an aging unit, you're not just upgrading your airflow you're upgrading what's behind it.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this GE Appliances 13,500-BTU White High-Efficiency Ductless RV Air Conditioning System with Heat Pump. Now, this is going to be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner system to your RV's ductless system in your small or medium-sized camper. And this high-efficiency 13,500-BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool down evenly, and it does have a built-in heat pump for those chilly mornings, and all of this is from a brand name that you know and trust. This does use the more energy-efficient R-32 refrigerant, which is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations, so because of that, this will not be compatible with any air conditioning systems from 2024 and earlier. This will be a bolt-on installation with the hardware that you see there at the other end of my table.
So, this is going to fit roofs from two inches to six-inches thick, with an opening size of 14 3/8-inches long by 14 3/8-inches wide. And looking at the dimensions of the unit itself, the overall length, we're sitting real close to 32 13/16-inches long, the overall width, 26 1/8-inches wide, the overall height, 13 15/16-inches tall, and this is going to weigh a little under 80 pounds, the unit itself. So, this is gonna run pretty quietly for you. That's because the motor has sound-dampening grommets that's gonna help reduce the humming and vibration noises that can be very annoying. And this is, as I mentioned, also going to include a heat pump, and as you probably know, that heat pump pulls the warmth from the air to heat your RV on those chilly mornings.
And this is pretty much gonna be an easy swap for most RVs. It's gonna seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening, and this is also built tough for going down the road. This is constructed of high-grade materials, so it's gonna withstand extreme UV rays and constant vibrations. And this features a white, hard, automotive-grade polymer shroud that's going to protect the internal components from water, dirt, debris, and it can be easily removed in case you need to do any maintenance or cleaning. And then the wiring harness is tucked up underneath the unit itself, so all you have to do is pull those down through the opening of the roof of your RV to get the harness installed.
And then you do wanna keep the rear of the air conditioner unit at least 18 inches away from any obstructions. Taking a closer look at the other side of my table to take a quick, quick glance at the components here. We have our air-distribution box that's built to handle road vibrations and everyday life. The overall width and length, we're sitting right at 21 inches on both of those dimensions, and then when you have this installed in the ceiling, it's probably gonna stick down or hang down about two or 2 1/2 inches or so just to kinda give you an idea of the headroom that you're gonna have. And then this does include this white thermostat.
This is a single-zone thermostat that includes these easy-to-use buttons, and a very easy, large to read, clear backlit display. And so this does come with hardware to install onto the wall, so it's gonna be a pretty easy installation on that front. And then we also have the control panel here, or the control board, a control box, called the numerous different things. This is basically the brain that's gonna manage how your air conditioner unit functions. It's fireproof. So, that's also included with this, so basically everything you need to get this unit up and running. There's the bolts there to mount the air conditioner on the roof of your RV. So, all of this comes from GE, and again, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, it's from a name that is well-known, especially in appliances in the home, so that reliability, that trustworthiness with that name brand is going to come into your RV with this system. Now, if you're looking for something a little bit different, maybe you're looking for a higher-BTU unit or a different type of system, or even a different color of shroud, we do have other options available from GE here at etrailer.com, so take a look at what else we offer from them. But if you find out that this is going to be exactly what you need, once you get this installed and up and running, we would love to hear back from you. Share your experiences with us, either by dropping a comment or a review on this product page, and you can share pictures with us as well to show us this in action on your rig. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
