When you switch between trailers, matching height is what keeps things steady. This adjustable mount slides up or down the shank in 1" increments, giving you up to a 10" drop or 11" rise so your trailer stays level no matter what you’re hauling. Once you’ve lined it up, the included dual locking pins hold the platform tight and secure.
If you pull more than one trailer, you’ll appreciate not having to swap out hardware. The reversible platform carries both a 2" and a 2-5/16" ball on opposite sides—just pull the pins, flip it, and re-pin. The 2" ball handles up to 8,000 lbs and the 2-5/16" ball carries up to 18,500 lbs, so one setup covers everything from lighter loads to serious hauls.

When you’re done towing, just pull the pins and move the platform to the back side of the shank. The balls tuck underneath your vehicle so they don’t get in the way—or your shins. Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Weigh Safe 180 hitch with a two ball mount for a 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch shank with a max 10 inch drop and 11 inch rise with stainless steel balls and locks included. So folks, the two inch ball's gonna give you a weight rating of 8,000 pounds capacity, and the 2 5/16, a max gross trailer weight of 18,500 pounds. Now these measurements that go up or down are in one inch increments. Now a ball mount, as you know in this case, is dual-sided, meaning you can slip the balls over to change out the size of the trailer coupler that you're pulling and the height, so you can adjust the height depending on the height of the trailer coupler on the trailer you're holding. Now this is what's considered a stowable design, meaning I could technically take this pin out, pull the ball mount head off, flip it back on from underneath, and have it on this side, and now it's out of the way, I got more leg room here when I'm walking behind my tow vehicle.
The whole unit here is made of a solid piece of 6061-T6 billeted aluminum and the mounting platform as well. So no rust, no corrosion to worry about. The ball is a solid piece that goes through the whole middle. It's stainless steel, so same thing, super corrosion resistant and rust preventative as well. Now some quick dimensions.
From the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of the ball is 8 1/2 inches. And then if you go back to the further back hole, it's 9 5/8 inches. Now from this closest hole to the back to the back, it's 1 7/8 inches, center to the back. And from the back to the center of this hitch pin hole is three inches. Now as far as how you use this, it's pretty simple.
Again, you get four keys included. This lock here, tube keys, super nice, super reliable, hard to pick for anyone that's trying to steal your stuff. Simply unlock it, pull it out, set it aside, or reuse it when you're done, take the dust cover off of this guy here, put the key in, pull the dual pin out. Now in this case, we got a two inch, we wanna go to 2 5/16. Take it off, flip it 180, go right back on.
And I'm gonna go the same height just for demonstration purposes, it's easier. And now the locking part is on my side since we've inverted the whole head, and it's just as simple as lining up. And same thing, just put the key back in place, lock it, and you're ready to go. And obviously you'd wanna put the dust cover back over the lock. So again folks, very simple design. Nice dual sided hitch here by Weigh Safe, the 180 for the 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch shank. Folks, this is a nice option for you. After 3 months one of the trailer chains bonds against the hitch while taking a shape turn and bent the key to flip the receiver ball. So we are basically stuck with a 2 5/16 receiver since it cannot be opened and flipped. Aluminum is nice but weak at the same time.
Work horse and light weight. Comes with key locks keyed alike for hitch and ball. Stainless steel ball ensures durability for towing long term.
Very solid and beautifully finished. Fits well on my 2016 Ram 2500 4x4, with the newer 2-1/2" receiver, allowing the exact height necessary to level my toy hauler. Ball mount is packaged in foam to ensure it is pristine when it arrives.
Got the locking dual pin for it, as well as the BOLT locks for hitch and coupler, so none of this pretty stuff walks away. Very happy with the whole setup.

Good product feels very sturdy. My only critique is that it has too much play causing a lot of rattling. The manufacturer should have a tightening bolt so that after installation the two components tighten up and there’s no play.

Great product. Craftsmanship is top notch.
Easy to use and very sturdy built. My only complaint is the standard coated Balls rusted pretty quickly and look bad. I Should have went with the upgraded stainless steel. Also the salt from 1 winter has left some corrosion on the aluminum of the hitch and the sticker fell off. None of these things affect the function, but i wish it would have stayed looking as nice as it did when it was new.
