Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look together at the Onan 5,000 watt dual fuel portable inverter generator that runs on both gas and propane. Folks, if you're looking for a quiet, efficient, flexible power for your RV adventures, this is the Cummins Onan 5,000 watt dual fuel inverter generator. And it's built to deliver exactly what you need. So with 5,000 watts of peak power, this inverter generator is perfect to run essential RV appliances like air conditioners, TVs, microwaves, and charging your devices without overloading your setup.
So, it's an ideal choice for the weekend trips, tailgating, or even extended stays off grid. I do wanna zoom in here and show you some of the different things real quick. Starting off, you're gonna get a funnel. You're gonna get a little inverter charger and that's actually going to be plugged in to the front side here. I'll show you in a second the front.
And that's gonna keep the onboard battery charged up and everything when you're not using it, when you're back, you know, from the campsite and whatnot, so that the remote starts always ready to go. You're gonna get the key fob. Bring that a little bit closer for you. You get your standard on/off buttons and a little bitty carabiner clip. This can work up to 99 feet away.
You have a little toolkit. These are pretty standard in generators. There's a little Phillips screwdriver in here and a little bitty socket with a, for your spark plug. And then you're gonna get the oil you need for the generator. And of course, you're gonna get the propane hose, excuse me, and regulator as well.
So again, all of this is included and I'm gonna just kinda put all this over here to the side because we're gonna be spinning this around here and I wanna make sure you can see what's going on. So, I will start on the side here. You have a lock/unlock switch. This is literally just for maintenance. I do wanna show you the inside so you can get a little look at it. You have your air box right here as far as air filter and everything. So, that's a maintenance part that you could swap out over time and change the air filter. And then of course you can see part of the engine. Everything here has some soundproofing all the way around it. So, that's gonna keep this generator really quiet compared to the other ones that are out there on the market as well. And then on the top here, you have your fuel tank. So, that's as simple as twist on/off as far as that. And then you heard it click whenever it's locked in position. You got nice dual handles on both sides. And what's neat about this one is it's almost like a suitcase handle. You can slide it out, lock it out. Now, whenever I need to move my generator around the campsite or for storage, I can simply push that handle in or out with the push of a button here on the front. So again, just like a piece of luggage. So, I like that feature. It's really nice. This really isn't too heavy. The dry weight's 108 pounds. I know that sounds like a lot, but for generators it's not too bad. Of course, you got your standard hookup here, the TT-30R outlet. That's gonna be your direct hookup into your RV or camper. And then, of course, you'll have your standard household plugs. And then, you've got a lot of different switches and stuff here. You got USB hookups, you've got your, again, gas propane hookup here. And as you see, it's a Quick Connect. So, the hose that supply with it, it's a Quick Connect. You got the fuel switch right here if you wanna switch from gas or down to LP, liquid propane. And of course, you got your digital data center here as well. And then, your remote start lights, EFI system fault. So, it's got a lot of smaller things in here. Push button, reset button, those kind of things. And you can read all those different specs more in depth on the page. And if I come over here and spin it around one last time, now we're on this side. As you can see, we got a pull string here. So if I need to, for whatever reason, that onboard battery died or something, I can still pull start it. So again, lots of redundancies. I love that about it. Same thing if I need to get in here for maintenance, simply unlock that on this side. You would carefully remove the pull string. I'm just gonna kinda pull it outta the way here real quick. so you can see inside there. So, this is the onboard battery. Pretty small battery, not too big. And then again, the other side of the engine, this will be your oil drain plug here. Then your oil fill plug there as far as checking your oil levels and whatnot. And again, these are real simple as you saw. There's some tabs on the top. Push them up first, pop in the bottom, give it a little smack, then lock in place. Now, it's stayed on there. Again, folks, everything here is really nice, really easy to use. Let me flip it up here a little bit. You can see the bottom. You can see that handle is really, really bolted in place and everything. I've done a lot of engineering on this that I like, that really just kinda sets it apart from a lot of other ones I've seen. Again, it's quiet. And because it's an inverter generator, you also get clean, stable power. And that's gonna be safe for those sense of electronics, whether it's laptops, phones, TVs. And again, it's also a lot quieter than traditional open frame generators, which is gonna make a lot more campground-friendly as well. Now, one last thing before we go, as far as convenience, to me that's one of the biggest things. Now, you're not walking out in the cold, the rain, the wet. You can simply push that remote start, get it started at nighttime, in the bad weather, whatnot. You don't have to worry about going out there and doing all that, which is a big deal if you've ever done it before. So, keep that in mind as well. And before we leave, I do wanna finish up with some dimensions. 45 3/8ths inches long overall. On its side, 18 1/8th inches wide. And for a height, I got 21 3/16th inches tall over all. Folks, that's gonna wrap up our quick look together at this Onan 5,000 watt dual fuel portable inverter generator. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
